Question I have... Anyone doing Medifast Diet? Thoughts on it? Many thanks for any answer or 2. Second question of mine... I started the day after Thanksgiving and am looking for people who started about the same time as me so we can support each other and make new friends. I have 150 lbs to lose so I have a long weigh to go. I have lost 27 lbs so far.

Come on, lets do this...

Oh man, that's what I see on ppl who had the lapband procedure. Like so many other weight loss plans, the effect is only temporary. Seen a couple of gastric bypass ppl with the same issue - plus- intestinal distress..

I'm hoping Medifast will get me to a better place, at least. Then I think I really need to learn to eat in a whole different way than I ever have...

If we work the program it will change the way we view food. I have a lot to lose and I feel that because of this I have the advantage of having a longer time to change my relationship with food. We will do this!..

My name is Jennifer. I started the program on January 30, weighing 287. My healthy weight should be around 140, which would be a 147 lb loss. Oh, how daunting. Honestly, I'll be thrilled just to get under 200..

I live in Texas (and am experiencing that ice & snow jelizabeth mentioned), 37, single, have a 16 yr old son, and work as an investor asset manager of mortgage securities..

I want to be a groupie too!!!! I will be starting tomorrow and very excited!!!.

I know we are on various levels of starting but all fairly new. I have tried jumping into the already formed groups where everyone knows everyone, and it's kinda tough..

I am in the Midwest sitting in the middle of a Blizzard right now, but tucked in safe and sound. I have tried many (too many to mention) diets and I loose, but stop once people start noticing, I can buy new clothes etc. then all the pounds start coming back and bring their friends with them..

I need to loose 80+ lbs. and have set my goal there, but my hope is once I get there, I will want to let it go lower..

Should we name our group?..

My name is Cathy. I currently weigh 335 lbs - would like to lose 200 lbs. That number is really overwhelming, but I'm taking it a day at a time. I will be going to Missouri the end of April, and hope to have 30 lbs gone by then. My birthday is the end of June, and I hope to have 50 lbs. gone by then.

I am currently 48 and live in Texas. I am keeping a daily journal of my thoughts and feelings as I get through each day. January 28th was the first day of the rest of my life, and I'm taking charge and making the necessary changes that I need to ensure a happier future. I hope to get to know a lot of you through the forums and wish everybody luck in their choice to become a lighter, healthier person!..

So far, so good! I really love MF! Yes, 200 lbs is a lot to lose but I take it in 30 lb increments. That way I tell myself I have "only 30 lbs" to lose...it works for me.

Hi again! Nice to meet all of you! I am excited for this group. I tried joining another group that my friend - who had been on Medifast for a year - was involved in, but they all knew each other really well and it was a little awkward for me..

I'm Jessica, and I started on Jan. 10. I'm just starting my 4th week. Last week was rough for me - I was on and off...I'm looking to lose 101 pounds. That number also sounds daunting to me! I'd like to be 155 pounds, but would accept 175. Really, I'll be happy to be 200!.

I am in West Virginia and am a professor of Family Studies. I used to live in Missouri (in Columbia) and have been watching the news! Wow, you guys are getting hit. I also saw how bad Texas is! Our temperatures are in the 40s! There are wind and ice and snow warnings in pretty much every county around us, but we're in some kind of safe spot and are fine. I hope you all make it through the storm...

I'm Denise, I am 43 and live on Long Island in NY. I was first starting Medifast several years ago with much less to lose. I was just a few days in when I ended up in the hospital with what turned out to be a major flare up of Multiple Sclerosis. Fast forward several years, and I'm ready to go this time!!.

I have an awesome DH, 3 kids (girls ages 10 and 7 & a son aged 5). I walk with a cane or walker and use a scooter for longer distances, but I still am a Girl Scout Leader, a class mom, a rosary leader, love to travel and have my own business. I figure if I can manage those things despite my annoying disability, I can ditch this pile of pounds once and for all!!.

I started at 270 (yikes!) and had my first weigh in yesterday, down 14 lbs..

It's going to be a long road but that is ok. I hope these boards will help me divert from mindless snacking..

And I love the name Melt-Aways ... though it sounds like candy .... ha!..

Just over 2 months and I have lost 43 pounds!!! I am amazed!.

I started a group called WAHMS (work at home moms) but if I can also join your group I would appreciate itand any WAHMS here can stop in and see us, too..

I have been married for 33 years and we have three kiddos22, 11, 10all adopted at birth. I am an author and wrote a book about our crazy and miraculous life. I also travel and speak to women's groups, although fibromyalgia has slowed me a bit in the last year..

I'm 41 and live near Clevleland, Ohio. I'm married to great guy, no kids, but we have a couple of great dogs and cats. I would like to lose 160 pounds and it seems so impossible, but I really feel good about this diet! This is the first time I have been excited about being on a diet after reading all the inspirational posts and seeing the before/after shots people posted. If they can do it so can I!!!.

Today was easier than yesterday (I had to go to bed to avoid jumping headfirst into the fridge!) and I'm starting to feel really good both physically and mentally. Its not advanced mathematics like WW points - count, count, count - just 5+1..

I look forward to supporting each other on our journey!..

It looks like this group is really growing. I'm so happy! Kellieb: You're right, this diet is easier in a lot of ways than WW or others. There's something peaceful in being on a restrictive diet. You have your 5, then your 1 - that's it! :-).

I am tired. I had a busy, but productive, day at work. We totally missed out on all the snow and ice! It was 51 degrees this morning, but is now in the 30s and snowing. I hope all of you who are dealing with the ice and snow still have your power! I think I'll be heading to bed soon. :-).

Oh - and one more thing - if you visit this website -.

Hi Gals,.

I would love to join you all in forming this new support group. I have been looking for one to join, but the majority of them already looked well established and had their own bonds formed. I think supporting one another through this journey is so very important..

I am Nicole from St Louis Mo. I started my journey two and half weeks ago and am thrilled with my results. I have lost a total of 18.2 lbs in those two weeks. I have been overweight all of my life and have tried many diets being unsuccessful basically because I would hit a plateau around 20lbs and just couldn't seem to break it. I am hopefully that this time will be different and that this will be a journey of a lifetime towards much feeling and looking better!..

Need input - I can go back to the drawing board if needed. If there is a sub heading I can add. Then I will get the URL address to everyone. without the glitter they looked boring that's why all 3 have the blinking..

TGIF - it sounds like everyone is working hard at this and that is GREAT!.

Day 3 begins today for me. So far I haven't struggled much at all, and they say it gets easier as we go. I only work part-time 10 or 15 hours a week so I think that makes it easier. I am never tempted for lunches out or co-workers bringing food in. I cut my coffee back to one cup (and I LOVE my 2 cups in the morning) because I don't want to sacrifice 2 condiments on Splenda before 8:00 each day. Now that is a sacrifice..

I am glad everyone likes the banner. I will see if I can make the 'little' letters of.

Go to the top of this page and select Quick Links - from here you can edit your signature. It will always appear everytime you post. This is the code you need to copy and paste into your signature.

BUT you have to take the spaces out after and before all the brackets [..

THIS IS THE CODE.

[ URL=http://www.mybannermaker.com ][ IMG]http://i.imgur.com/jvaCg.gif[/IMG].

Hope I didn't make that too complicated, but I had to put the spaces in or it would just put another banner in. If you have trouble with getting it to show, send me an message and I will see if I can get it to you that way. Unless someone else knows a better way to do it..

To center it, just highlight the code and click on the center formatting in your title bar...

Yeah Jessica it must have worked. Did you have to copy the code or can you click on the banner and just paste it in? This will help others get it on their signature...

I love the banner!!.

I cut and pasted it into my signature line. I needed to do it a couple of times because I kept missing the extra spaces. Once I deleted all of the extra spaces, it worked perfectly...

Hi Everyone..

So thankful it is Friday herealthough we are supposed to get more snow again tomorrow. I am starting to feel like an Eskimo here in NJ. It was my first week and I have to say it was a bit rough, but I am happy to report that on day 7 here I can see myself getting used to it. I have noticed that the cravings are starting to go away though so that is good. I am committed to staying OP during the super bowl! I will not let one silly game ruin all the hard work that I have done this week.

Hang in there guys!.

Thanks for making the ticker, I am going to try and add it to my siggy later on tonight.

?what are everyone's plans for the weekend (aside from football.

Hi,.

I ran upon your group today as I was perusing the boards. My name is Leada. I'm 46 yo and I live in S. Central Indiana. (Yes, we have suffered through this ice storm terribly. Lost electricity for 2 days.) I'm married with 2 boys, ages 21 and 25..

I lost 25 lbs on Medifast in the fall of 2009. I've had a series of health issues but still need to lose weight. (btw, I did gain the weight back.

) I'd love to be a part of your group if you don't mind. I had my first full day today. So far so good, but I do know that the first week is tough. I have about 60 lbs to lose and sure could use a friend or two for encouragement. I weighed myself this morn at 215.6...yikes. I DO NOT like that #.

Anyhow, thanks and looking forward to getting to know everyone..

Leada..

I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I click on my ticker and it goes straight to the Medifast homepage. Where is the ticker website?..

Ckinsella - I made my ticker with the ticker factory ticker (I think you can click on mine and it will take you to the website). I couldn't figure out how to update the Medifast one! haha I gave up because I was having to redo it every time. The ticker factory one seems to be a lot easier. Once you create your ticker on that site, it'll give you the code to cut and paste into your signature. Once that happens, then you'll just need to sign in with your pin each time you want to change your weight and it'll update in your signature line automatically...

Hi Girls,.

I hope you all have had a good week and are looking forward to a fun and relaxing weekend! My week has gone along smoothly. I had two snow days at home. Work from home in PJ's, there could be no better plan!.

Here in St Louis we ended up with 3 inches of sleet/ice and 3 inches of snow. We ended up missing the expected 10-12 inches forcasted. Tonight though they are forcasting a dusting and possibly up to 2 inches. I grew up in NW Indiana and am use to the lake effect snows. We very rarely see those kinds of snows here in St Louis..

I don't have any big plans for the weekend. My car was acting up today so I am having it looked at tomorrow. I would like to catch up my reading. Perhaps I will find a nice quiet corner of the world and curl up with my book.

Sunday I am oncall for 24 hrs so I am hoping for a quiet call. I would like to check out the commercials during the Super Bowl..

Congratulations.

To all of you who have had great results on the scale this week! Are you all finding that you feel more energy and almost like there is a spring in your step? I know I do and I am loving this feeling. Prior to starting MF, I always felt tired and run down. I never realized how bad I felt until I started MF. Now I.

NEVER.

Want to go back!.

Thanks Mercy and Jen for the great name ideas. Very creative! I love the banners as well Mercy. Thank you for your hard work!.

I hope you all have a great weekend!..

I am currently reading "Heaven is for Real" written by Todd Burpo. It is about a four year olds astounding trip to Heaven and back. It is a really great book. I am about 1/2 through it and have another new book to start "Made to Crave"..

Goodmorning - it's way to early to be up, especially on a Saturday. Today is the beginning of Day 4 for me. Yesterday I made it through a very bad headache but now feel great! I had to take a peek on the scale too (even though I had promised myself not too until weigh in day). Okay, I AM HAPPY. Not a huge amount but it moved 'down'. Something I haven't seen in a long time..

Welcome to the new gals who have stopped in the last couple days. Glad to see the banner is working and you all liked it. It was fun making. Like I said it kept me busy..

No special plans for the weekend, not even a Super Bowl party so I shouldn't have any problem staying OP the next couple days. DH is doing all the grocery shopping, so I am not even tempted. I am very lucky with that..

Have a great day everyone and remember you are worth the new you that you unraveling everyday you stay OP...

Good Morning! I feel great. Today was my first weigh-in and I am very pleased. I lost 9lbs my first week. I am so excited. I have tried lots of diets and I know the first week you always experience the greatest weight loss, but I have never lost 9lbs in one week before. For the first time I really believe I can do this..

Have a great weekend everyone!..

Nicole, Thanks, I am going to take a look at them. I am always looking for something new to read. I checked last night...the book I picked up on recommendation from a friend is called "Unbroken" by LauraHillenbrand (wrote Seabiscuit)..

Mercy58-on day 8 now and I can say the headaches go away. I felt miserable up until about yesterday..

Denise-I also mave my first WI today...I haven't gotten on the scale yet-too scared too. CONGRATS on your successes. You should be really proud of all that you have accomplished this week!.

We are off to see Monster Jam todayproviding this ice and snow stops before noon like they say it will. What a winter. I never thought I would say I am going to see this monster truck show....guess that's what happens when God blesses you with a little boy.

My friend's son had tickets with his cub scout pack and asked us to go with them. They were only $15 so why not right? lol Will let you know how it is.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning fellow Melt-Aways!.

I enjoyed a Vanilla 70 shake this morning. Delish!.

Mercy and Denise congrats on your losses. I'm the same way Mercy, I try and try not to look at the scale but, I did yesterday even though my official day is Wednesday. I was pleased..

Jessica, we should deem you the resident IT Melt-Away. I'm so not that tech savy. Kudos to you!.

Nicole, today looks like one of those days to crawl up on the couch and read a book. And wow, we are still losing weight doing so, I love it!.

Melissa, girl get some earplugs. It's loud! Enjoy Monster Jam..

Jennifer, I know you're out there and I'm still not cleaning your crockpot..

Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday. Now, I must go chug some water........

Dietwalker, thanks. Earplugs are on the list of things to bring..

Denise-Go to the top and click Quicklinks, then Edit Signature. In the box, put the info for your ticker and banner and preview it. It was pretty quick for me last night. I have heard ppl have an easier time with tickerfactory than with the Medifast tickers. The banner for this group is:.

[ UR L=http://www.mybannermaker.com].

[/ URL ].

Just remove the spaces at the beginning and end of URL and it should work. Good luck!.

Oh I was brave enough to get on the scale and I lost exactly 10 pounds. I am VERY happy with that! Make this the best day ever!.

Hey Everyone!.

I just added my ticker and the banner to my signature and wanted to test. My first weigh in is Monday, but of course I have been peeking daily..

It certainly has helped me these first couple days seeing that number go down and I hope I never see those numbers again!.

I am having a really bad day today. Physically I am not feeling good nor right. I woke up this morning feeling very weak, nauseous, and wheezing. I just about passed out in the shower. I took my blood sugar which was 99 and normal. Blood pressure 111/63 normal.

I went to bed feeling fine. I do not feeling sick like a virus or anything. No temp. Has anyone ever felt this way while OP?..

Hope you are feeling better "nkrn". I felt a little sluggish yesterday with a headache but nothing like you are describing. I agree, get some rest and be sure you are getting your protein amounts in..

Well after only 4 days I had a big challenge. DH and I went shopping and he hadn't eaten, said can we go somewhere. I took a deep breath and chose Red Lobster (thinking fish). I told the waiter not to bring my biscuits (I love those biscuits) and to set the others far away. I ordered flounder with steam broccoli and a garden salad with light vingerette on the side! Drank 2 glasses of lemon water and enjoyed a nice early dinner out! Plus the flounder was only about 4 oz. (my guess), so I have 3 oz left for later plus 2 Medifast meals..

I was just so excited I had to share with people who would understand the step that was...

Mercy, congrats on the successful restaurant endeavor. I am not so brave yet, but will get there one day..

Nicole, I was having that problem as well and my Dr. finally thought it had to do with the fact that I was over-doing the water and not taking in enough sodium causing my electrolytes to be off balance. It was suggested that I cut back on the water (I was really over-doing it) and to have some regular chicken broth. It seemed to do the trick and I felt much better the next day. I have been limiting my water since then to 64-96 ounces. I am no Dr.

Hopefully you will figure it out soon. That feeling is terrible...

Excellent weight losses Denise and Melissa!!!.

I'm a big Steelers fan (haha I guess I'm hoping to become a "smaller" Steelers fan...), and I'm going to try the cauliflower pizza tomorrow. That or the cauliflower mock'n cheese. I'm looking forward to it. I had mashed cauliflower yesterday - delicious! I think it's better than mashed potatoes. As for being the resident peanut butter cup person...I've tried some new recipes these last few days. I tried doing something with the cappucino and it was fine, but I'd rather just put it in my coffee.

Wow - it was terrible. Back to the drawing board! haha..
