First question I have is Does anybody know where I can find a Qucik Nutrisystem diet plan? Thanks in advance for any comment. My 2nd question... I've been struggling with the scale and fighting it tooth and nail for two and a half months now. I was exercising upto 6 days a week 2 hours a day at one point which I believe slowed down my weight loss. So Nutrisystem increased my calorie count. Which worked somewhat than slowed.. |

You betcha! although you might wanna make sure and wait for another commenter to confirm my answer as I am unsure. Better yet, why don't you ask the Nutrisystem guys because they can answer your Nutrisystem question better...

Thanks for responding Jayzen....
Some great suggestions there. I appreciate it. I never took a whole day off yet and perhaps I'll do that now just to see. I did however go out for dinner (I think twice since starting the plan) and try to be close to plan but never a whole day. I have switched from cardio to weight lifting and back now to cardio. Really I do a bit of both these days but more cardio I'd say 3:1. My water I think could be a problem as I don't seem to be tracking it... but lets see. I typically have a full glass with my vitamins (1) than have a glass at lunch, BREAKFAST AND DINNER (4), than have one before bed with meds so that makes 5 glasses for sure. my glasses are more than 8 oz. more like 16 oz but I don't always fill them to the top so I'd say I get about 7.5 glasses a day. sometimes even more when I really pay attention to water which is around 65% of the time. As for the size and measurement comment. Yes I have seem really great changes there since starting the plan but it has slowed over the past two months to where I am hardly seeing any change at all with measurements.... Still, I continue to work the plan everyday because this is a lifestyle change and how I feel today IS the biggest difference. With all of the exercise and eating right I've become a different person. I really do feel great and I think that is what carries me through this difficult time.. Again thanks!. Ben.. |

You've hit the nail on the head yourself. You need to drink more water..
When you work out your muscles need more water. You need to make. Up for this. So drink a few more 8 oz. glasses of water per day over the. Plan. Also measure yourself about once a month to see physical results. As well... |

Ben, Another thing you might try is adding fish oil to your diet. I take two 1200mg gell caps twice a day. There is a component in fish oil that assists fat cells to release lipids. The chemistry is pretty complex, but it has worked for me. Good Luck. JT..

I find that my fat loss slows considerably when I drink less than 1.5 gallons per day. While you do not have as much weight to lose as I (still) do, it doesn't seem like you're adequately hydrated...

B_E_N I'm pretty much battling the same issues myself and I think the lack of water intake is one thing is another thing we have in common along with the exercising. It's almost tragic to say that I lost more weight without exercise but it's a fact and I'm not sure I can understand that even if it was explained to me in dumb guy terms..
I know I am healthier overall but sometimes a nice scale nudge would be a bit of re-enforcement. I think taking the advice here and turning up the water intake is a definite for me.. Mojo.. |

Fellows, I'm getting ready to try PACE. It's a program similar to HIIT but also very different. Seems to make a lot of sense. I bought the book today and intend to start a thread once I start to see results. I'm a bit stalled but in my case I'm having a few extras in the evening - not bad - but enough to really slow my loss. This link is a bit hyped - but I listened to a good interview and did some searching - would love to have others investigate also.
It's supposed to really improve BF% Let me know what you think. We'll get there - but patience is the key!. Http://www.alsearsmd.com/pace/.. |

Wow... thanks guys. I hear the message loud and clear. I need to drink more water. Thats probably it. Heck I've been measuring, scaling and watching what I eat what makes measuring my water intake any different.
Thanks Michael. Thats alot of water... how do you do it? How many cups in a gallon and a half anyway. Hey Michael I hope you're not on a septic. Anyone else measure their water intake? how?. I'm starting tomorrow. Hey at least this will inspire me to continue steaming ahead. Thanks guys!. Ben. Thanks Tom that sounds interesting. please advise as I used to basically do circuit training when I first started the plan but slowed it since. I would be interested it this program as well... |

Ben, I don't drink as much as Mike, but I do get 144 ounces each day. I carry a 24 ounce bottle with me and down 6 of those each day to get that total. I have found the following works best for me: I drink 2 bottles at the gym in the morning, 1 bottle by 10 AM (morning snack), 1 bottle by lunch, 1 bottle by 2:30 PM (afternoon snack) and 1 bottle finished with dinner. I also "reward" myself in the evening with a diet Pepsi only if I've finished my water and since I usually grab a "salty" snack in the evening I really want that Pepsi to go along with it. If I don't get my water in, I don't drink a Pepsi - may sound foolish, but it works for me..
Also, when it comes to stalling a bit on the scale, I will eat one dinner out with my wife each week for our weekly date. I am very critical of what I eat and am very picky in the restaurants we go to, but I have found that I usually will see an increase in weight loss following that meal. This week, I was down 1 pound until date night and the next day on the scale I was down 2 more pounds. There again, it's something I've found that works for me. Just for an example, my wife enjoys Cracker Barrel and I have two meals that I will eat there that seem to kick start my losing. One is the grilled chicken tenderloins and the other is the grilled catfish. Just my two cents for what it's worth... |

Thanks for that trout... It "kinda" puts things into perspective with my water consumption...

Ben drink the water, I drink two 10 oz glasses when I get up, I usually bang down one or two 8 oz glasses before I eat any meal or snack and I have a couple of glasses after dinner just to top off the radiator.
.. I think the amount of calories you were taking in every day before starting Nutrisystem has an impact as well. For myself I loaded up on carbs every day, bagels, donuts, loved to eat sweets too, so my daily calorie intake with Nutrisystem is way down from the old me. I think that is one big reason why my weight is dropping so fast on plan.. Early on when I started the plan I read an article someone posted about the importance of water in the process of breaking down fat in the body. I have been very focused on drinking enough water every day to keep the burn going... |
|
Well, I'm drinking all of my water and than some. I didn't realize how hard it is.
Not seeing any change yet but I'm hopeful.. Ben.. |
|
Thanks, brother. Just keeping my nose to the grindstone. It really feels like I've changed my lifestyle..
Ben, I'm not a patient person. That said, I continue to learn it. While you want to get started losing again, give it all time... |
|
Guys... I'm happy to say that I've started to see changes on the scale... I lost 2 pounds since posting this just by drinking more water. That is the most weight lost in two and a half months so it's helped to get me going again. Now I just need to be close to the toilet to unload.
Thanks again!. Ben.. |
|
Ben I drink 1 gallon a day. I will drink 4 16.9oz. bottles in the morning and 4 after lunch. If I drink less than 1 gallon a day my weight loss will slow and I might even gain. Drink water and then drink some more...

Hi FitTom! Oops-sorry-I wandered into the Men's Room!.
I read your post about PACE and it sounded interesting. I checked out the link and just d/l'd the eBook. I started reading it and I must admit it sounds convincing. I fell into the stupid aerobics thing in the '80's and I HATED IT! I never felt good, I hated the silly outfits, the silly instructors, etc, etc. I have always enjoyed short intense bursts of activity rather than any kind of endurance training, so I think I will read on and give it a try!. Why don't you start a thread in the Fitness & Exercise Forum. I would be very interested in seeing how this goes.. And... you look great!.. |
