Got a question... Does anyone have a recipe for Madeleine Medifast cookies? Hoping for any response. Second question.. When is the best time to eat breakfast? Right after I get up? An hour or two later? Early? (6:00 AM) Late? (10:00-11:00) WHEN?..

Ye, although you might want to make sure and wait for another person here to confirm this as I am unsure. Better yet, why don't you e-mail the Medifast guys because they can give you an answer better...

Yeah.. it totally depends on when you get up and go to bed..

I always have a huge glass of water first thing, wait 20 minutes (for the HCl to come back again that had been washed away by the water) and then I make myself a big green smoothie, or whatever I'm feeling like, which is usually a big green smoothie!..

I second the "when you are hungry." I have found out that I don't get hungry right away, but the very second I get the first slight hunger signal, I jump on it. There are times when I HAVE gotten hungry right away here and there for various reasons (didn't eat much the night before, worked out a lot the night before, etc.)..

Everything you ever heard about having an early and big breakfast because it's the most important meal of the day and helps you burn more calories blah blah blah blah... Scratch it from your head if you can! Our bodies can't be shoved into a little cookie cutter generalization...

On school days I get up at 6.30 and leave at 7.15...I'm never hungry but I try and leave it as late as possible so I make a smoothie and drink it right before I leave or bring it in a flask with me... On weekends I just wait til I'm hungry! I think it's best just to eat it when you think you need refuelling rather than eating by the clock...

I sixth that but it should be one of the early hunger signals. Have you noticed how the first hunger signal is very slight and weak and goes away quickly ? In fact if your not watching for it you could easily miss it because it's that slight. Each following hunger signal is stronger and stronger until you could eat a cow. I wouldn't wait for a strong hunger signal because you just might try to eat a cow. Acknowledge a slight hungry signal and take prompt action with a small meal. I usually get a hunger signal of medium intensity shortly after waking up...

Did you know that the word breakfast literally means "to break your fast?" Translation: when we are sleeping and rejuvenating our cells, our bodies are at rest and fasting. Technically breakfast is your first meal of the day. It doesn't matter if you have a meal two minutes after rising or at 5pm. Eat when your body is hungry. However, if you're going to be using a lot of fuel during the day it's probably wise to fill up your fuel tank and keep your blood sugar even before heading out to face the world...

I certainly agree with the eat when you're hungry and not too much approach. That guide then has to get factored in to when your opportunities are to eat. And, too, Nomi Shannon, on one of her DVDs mentions that may raw fooders don't eat anything until about 10 and then just have some juice. Then they eat a good lunch, and lighter late in the afternoon. She and others recommend finishing eating early, like about 4 or 6, so your body has lots of time to rest...
