Thanks for the coffee, Jan! I need it. Phew what a week. Off to the races with me...
Goooood mooorrrnnninnngg.
Jan. And. MT.. I play a really good perky morning person on the internet.. Okay, I saw yesterday that. Sherry. Has a birthday coming up and. Freya. Is also an Aries so she either has one coming or recently had one. My birthday is the 18th and I've already told both work and home people - NO SLUDGE! Whoo hoo for everyone getting through their birthdays sludge-free!!.. |
Good Morning.
Carolyn. ,. MT. And. Jan. And whoever sneaks in while I am posting!. Got to work at 5:55AM this morning so I could leave early. I don't mind coming in super early if it means I can leave before 2pm!. Today was my first official WI and I'm down. 15.2 lbs. Since last Friday. I attribute my huge loss to all of the sludge I ate the two weeks prior to starting MF...and the major sludge-fest I had the day before I started...oh and a little credit goes to being 100% OP of course! My losses will be much more realistic from here on out I imagine!. I have a busy day at work today, a busy night tonight, and a busy day tomorrow...blah! I have to go shopping for myself and my hubby something to wear to a wedding tomorrow and I'm not looking forward to shopping for him...he HATES dressing up! So...wish me luck ladies.. I'll check back in later... |
Hi Jan, Carolyn, MT, Debra, and anyone who arrives while I'm typing..
I've got a relatively busy day ahead of me, but I've really been draggin' this week. Hopefully I can get my head screwed back on straight this weekend and start next week in a better place.. I did finally set up an eye doctor appointment. My vision has been failing more rapidly than I'm comfortable with and I need to make sure it is just aging and not something worse, so that's this Tuesday.. I'm a government IT contractor, so I'm hearing all manner of talk about this government shutdown. My company, a big one, says they could sustain us, but not for long. I'm irritated over the whole stupid thing... |
Good Morning.
Jan. - Thanks for the coffee! YUM!!! No sunshine here in Tappan. Let me know if you find any!. Good morning. MT. - Have a great OP day!. HI. CAROLYN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. (Perky enough?). Fabulous asking for no sludge on your birthday!. Hi. Debra. - Way to go on a great first week loss!!!!!. Hi. Zoe. ! Yes, the whole thing is pretty horrible... I can't even listen to it I get so upset. Please get your eyes checked out. Eyes are important, you know?. Ok, so - I know I weigh in on Wednesdays, but sitting on the edge of Onederland was killing me, so I weighed in today to get the good news!!!! I did update my ticker but I won't weigh in again until Wednesday - just really wanted to see that number!!!! Feels really, really good. So good I might go buy myself a pair of jeans!. Hope everyone is well - waving to all those I missed while I was typing and all those to follow - HI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Melissa.. |
Morning all!!.
Anony. , I hear you on the shutdown. I hope it all gets settled ASAP.. Youngest son is going to a playdate this am. I am also braving Walmart which I try to never do aside from for a certain sludge item they only sell there. Have to stock up on food before I leave town Tuesday.. Have a great one everybody.. |
Good morning, Tough Lovelies! Thank you for the coffee, Jan! We have some sunshine here upstate, but it's only 30 degrees. We're looking at a nice warm up - 80 on Monday! But rainy. Mother Nature is a little rusty and is working on striking that perfect balance..
Congratulations to Debra on an phenomenal loss! Wow! You're smart to realize that you can't expect that every week, but just stay on the straight and narrow and you will see beautiful numbers each week!. And Melissa! I was holding the door to the Land of the Ones open for you! Welcome! It's so nice that you're here! Never, ever go back into that cold gray Valley of the Twos again!. I have some pictures to share and as soon as I shrink them, I'll be back..... |
Thank you.
Penny. !!!!! Ahhhhhh (big sigh of relief!) I haven't been here in almost 5 years. And I absolutely refuse to go back! This IS the last diet. I love it and you can't take it away from me!!!!. Hi. Anna. ! Yes, let's all hope and pray this is resolved ASAP. I work for a laboratory that does blood testing for dialysis patients. I'm in accounting, but the shut down would effect us too as a majority of our income is from Medicaid and Medicare patients who are on dialysis. No one in my company is talking about it, I think because we are owned by an international congolmerate - so it's possible we'll weather the storm if there is one... but in no way will it be pretty.. I have to go take my car in for an oil change. I'll be back soon.. Love to all,. Melissa.. |
Melissa.
Welcome to the 100s!!!!. Debra. Wowsa, there' s a loss.. |
Good Morning!.
Jan. , Thanks for the coffee! Another busy day ahead!. Wow! Great loss. Debra. !. Good Morning. MT, Carolyn, Melissa, Zoe, Penny, and Anna. !. Anna. ...fingers crossed that our DH's aren't working for no paycheck after today. I'm doubly PO'd... we haven't yet received our tax refund check either, and that baby will also be held up. Argh!!.. |
Good Morning All!!!! Back from visiting family in Missouri. We had a nice visit. Totally hate the dial-up internet thing though. Talk about living in the dark ages........
Didn't get to weigh in last Friday because we were out of town. But I am in a new decade today!!!!~! Yea!!!!!!!!. I will try to catch up a little today. Glad to be back... |
Oooooh.
Penny. ! You've been a Busy Bee! I love the idea of adding ribbon and hanging them in my cubby or whereever!.. |
Oh.
Penny. Too too good - I couldn't read the one right after "goal" but I got all the others. The Tough Lovely is fabulous!!!!! Ohpee is hysterical!!!! You know, I could sew the tough lovely on the back of my jean jacket - that would be so cool!!!!! :-). Good morning. Keri. !!!!!!!!!!. Hi. Cara. ! Great job on your new decade!. Ok, so the car is in for an oil change - I get it back at in about 45 minutes.. Then the whirlwind begins: Getting Gigi groomed, walking Sarge, picking up Gigi from the groomers, going food shopping, going jean shopping(?) and of course, eating my 5 Medifast meals throughout until dh comes home. Friday night is usually trout night if I can get any from my Korean market. I also need to do my roots, get my eyebrows waxed and spend some time with my dd. DD was supposed to go back to her internship on Monday but it was postponed to this coming Monday. So far, so good.. Melissa.. |
Good morning everyone! TGIF is right...whew! What a week. I'm looking forward to the weekend as always. Work is so stressful at times that weekends can't come quick enough..
Mmm coffee is good and very much needed.. Penny. - those are cute! Do you have to limit the amount of letters when doing that? I bet adding a bead or two to the words would look awsome too! Such as Believe and have the dot on the I be a bead or on the heart a red bead or two. Would love it. Have you done any chakra jewelry? (Sorry my Reiki/holistic training is kicking in. ). Pet peave...just walking into to work, coat not even off or me in my office and being stopped 3 times for questions peeps should know. grrrr let me get my coat off will ya LOL Come on SATURDAY!. Gotta get to work!.. |
Whoo hoo.
Debra. ! Wonderful loss! That must feel great!. Zoe. , glad you are going to the eye doctor.. Melissa. , I am so excited for you to be in the 1's!!! Yay! Oh, and Gigi? My dog is named Gigi, too!. Anna. , have fun at the playdate!. Okay,. Penny. , now I want the "Zoinks" necklace, lol. That's a great word. I need to start using it more. By the way I saw your post this morning from last night about using your jewelry as a "don't cheat" motivator. I never even thought of it like that, but great idea! If I start craving sludge, I can get out my Penjewels and think, "Oooo, she'd kick my fat butt if I ate that!". Cara. , gratz on the new decade! Zoinks!. Morning. Keri. And. Sherry. And everyone else who follows... |
Oh.
Carolyn. ! Too funny. My Gigi is a shih-poo. She was supposed to be my dd's but you know how that worked out. Good thing I'm a total dog freak! I would attach a picture but I'm challenged in making my pics smaller - but you can see her (and dd and dh) in my pics on My Page.. Melissa.. |
OK...Off to work for me Lovelies!.
Have a Wonderful 100% OP day! I'll see/speak with you all this evening!. Happy Friday!.. |
Good morning everyone! Thanks for the coffee, Jan. I'm sucking it down like my life depends on it this morning!.
Melissa & Debra. - Congrats!!! Awesome job!. Penny. - I love the words!. Anna. - I hate Wal-mart. I will only go early in the am before it gets too busy. That place is so crowded even with no people in it.. Carolyn. - Add me to the list. My bday is April 16th. Who knew we had so many Aries TLs. BTW, you do an awesome job of playing a perky person on the internet. I would've had no idea you weren't a morning person.. Zoe. - I hope the draggin' goes away today!. I haven't watched the news in about 4 days and I haven't read the papers either. I'm so irritated by the shutdown and budget issues we have here in CA, that I'm just a little done with listening to it all.. Can I just say, WTH is up with the soup overflowing? I'm so sick and tired of cleaning microwaves. I'm putting it in big bowls where the soup only comes up maybe 1/4 of the way to the sides and not even microwaving it as long as it says... still overflows. Ugh! I think I'm done ordering the soup. The only times it hasn't done this is when I cook it in practically a casserole big dish.. Anyway... waving to everyone! have a fantastic Friday!. Deidra.. |
Melissa.
, my dog is a huge hound dog. She so does not look like a Gigi. I rescued her from a shelter and renamed her. I decided on Gigi because my nephew Sam, who was 3 at the time, called all dogs "Good Girl." So I thought GG or Gigi, short for Good Girl... |
Happy Friday morning TLies..
Thanks for putting the coffee on. Jan. I'm sure we're on our second pot by now.. Debra. - Woot! What a great first week. And good job on being realistic about losses from now on.. Melissa. - Welcome to Onederland! You rock!. Penny. - Love the words. Very very cute.. Those of you waiting to hear about the gov't shutdown. I hope we all get good news today. I'm sure it's tough on those of you depending on it.. Waves and hello's to everyone I didn't mention and those who are undoubtedly posting even as I type.. Let's hear it for Friday!!! Going to be a cold and rainy day here for me. Taking the little one to go see Hop today. Good stuff... |
Knitty.
I so agree - I've been putting my soups in mixing bowls - BIG ones so they don't overflow. Just a mess otherwise!. Carolyn. Awwww - I love your short cut for "good girl" that's very sweet. My dd gave Gigi this name because I asked her to. She wanted to name her Coco, which I have an aversion to because that was the name of my stepmother's poodle. In this case, it had to be any name but Coco. Speaking of which, time to get her over to the groomers!. Cheri. - Hi and THANK YOU!!!!. Melissa.. |
I survived Walmart thank goodness..
Happy Friday to all of you who came in in the last hour or so.. |
Melissa, the last one says I heart MF. I agree it looks a little weird.
Good morning, Sherry! I just started doing these, so, although I havent done any really long ones, I imagine I could. Some letters are harder than others, so I still need practice. Ive seen those that say Believe and Dream and theyre pretty! I was trying to figure out how to suspend the dot over the I in diva I thought about adding beads, too. The Tough Lovely one is definitely going to be adorned with a few sparkles! I havent done any chakra jewelry, but I can look into it. I have seen some jewelry on Etsy where the gemstone or mineral has it's special powers (for lack of a better term), but havent done any chakra stuff great idea! Im getting ideas already! I hope your day settles down. Maybe if you were wearing a pretty chakra pendant. Carolyn, ZOINKS! I love that word, too. Almost as much as jinkies! I am wearing a copper spiral ring today that is reminding me to stay OhPee. I wouldnt kick your fat butt! I might ask you how badly you want to get rid of it, though! In the nicest way possible!. Cheri, cant wait for your report on Hop! Russell Brand was on American Idol last night. Im not into the whole British thing, but that man is gorgeous. I remember seeing him on the cover of Rolling Stone when Get Him to the Greek was out and thinking, Wow would ya look at that? Even though hes goofy and silly, I think hes totally hot. I mean totally. Go on with your bad self, Katy Perry... |
Good Morning and.
TGIF. Tough Lovelies!!!. Thank you,. Jan. , for the coffee... it is seriously needed today!. Melissa. - Congrats on Onederland!!!!!! I'm SO thrilled for you!! That is a DEFINITE reason to update the ol' ticker! And did you say you had the shih poo? They are so adorable!!!!. Carolyn. - Happy Early Birthday!! April 18th was my grandma's birthday and birthdays that fall on the 18th (like mine too) run in the family. It's a very good day to be born. Debra. - What an amazing loss!! Good for you!!!. Penny. - Look at you! You've been quite the busy bee - love the words! Actually I saw on my counter this morning I had received a package from you... LOVE THEM! The blueberry color is stunning and I know mom will love it for Mother's Day! I just. Adore. The ring too. And waving a big hello to MT, anonygirl (zoe?), Anna, Keri, Cara, Sherry, Deidra, Cheri and anyone else that I may missed! Sending positive thoughts and prayers to those who are waiting for a speedy resolution on this "government shut down".. Not too much to report here other than being ZOINKED. This morning! My coffee is definitely coming in handy and I hope it kicks in soon. I keep having thoughts about eating sludge to purposefully kick myself out of ketosis and hop back on just to try and shake my body up. These last pounds are CRAWLING off. I mean, honestly, snails move faster than my non-shrinking ***. But I know that it's not the wise thing to do nor will it be productive... my brain knows this but GRR!. Cheers,. Lisa.. |
Deidra.
, I microwave my soup for about 40 seconds, stir it, microwave for 40 more seconds and it is done. I've never had it overflow.. Penny. , I also like "Jeepers!".. |
Happy Friday, TLer's.
Have a great day and weekend if I don't pop back in. Busy... date night, kiddos sleepover, Jr Prom ....Life........ |
Aww,.
Lisa. , sorry about the sludge thoughts. That was part of my train of thought back in January when my losses slowed to a crawl for 3 weeks straight. It was one of my justifications for going off plan, that it would kickstart my metabolism again <snort>. Guess what happened? It took me over 2 months to really get back in the saddle, and I gained back 20 pounds. Don't be me... |
Oooooh, Carolyn, I like Jeepers, too! My Dad was very German and always used to say, "jeepers creepers" with his cute little accent when he got flustered! I love that!.
Okay kids, I've got my legal pad all fired up and waiting for me to dosome words that will be preserved in wire! You know, I'm thinking these could be a huge hit at Christmas time. A few beads, some uplifting words, some ribbon hangers..... |
Good Morning Lovelies!.
Wow..7:15 here and lots to catch up on already.. Debra. , awesome loss. Wowzer!! (ooo..I like that word too). Penny. , I love Zoinks and Tough Lovelies. I think Jeepers is a keeper too. I think I would hang them in my office. Do you think you'll have those on your site for us to purchase eventually? I think we are moving upstairs and I am going to have my office painted an awesome blue (I chose too dark a blue in my current office) and those in the copper would look STUNNING!! HA! Funny that my thoughts went to myself and not Christmas presents for loved ones.. Melissa. , congrats on Onederland... |
Lisa, I'm so glad you liked the ring and the gift set for your mom! I agree that the blueberry quartz against the copper is beautiful! My sister bought the last set like that I made, and don't tell her, but your mom's set came out better!.
Susan, yes, I am thinking I will eventually have a section on my site for these. It's funny that you mentioned you liked the copper ones, because I think the copper is the easiest to work with! And it's very shiny. I'm playing with Google translator and translating simple words into foreign languages. The simplest words look so pretty in Swahili!. Christmas gifts, yes! And ornaments, too!.. |
Penny: How about symbols? Like the Peace symbol, etc. The sky is not even the limit here!.
Enjoy your days and your losses, Tofuties!. Thanks for the coffee, Jan. It was gone in a trice!. Beth.. |
Totally forgot to weigh yesterday. That's a switch. So..down .8 today. That is my first under a lb loss, but I knew it was bound to happen. Hmm..normally I just record to the lowest .5, but I think I'll start going with the exact accurate now. Off to change my ticker...
Thanks, Carolyn! I know it won't help me get there any faster... it's just my stupid head messing with me. Trust me, no sludge is passing these lips.
Ohh Penny - they really are so beautiful!!! Thank you again!. Also, do you ladies think it's time I got myself a nifty banner?. Cheers,. Lisa.. |
Good morning my Peeps!.
To say that I'm glad it's Friday is a total understatement! Getting out of bed was a major chore this morning. Don't wanna be here <pout>. Not even going to try to shout out to you all. I hate that by the time I get in a 6:30 AM there are so many posts I can't keep up. And I'm late checking in this morning which isn't helping.. Dierdra - I have never once cooked my soup in the microwave. I simply use boiling water and let it sit for 15 to 20 minutes, which gives the veggies time to rehydrate, and cools the soup enough that I can eat it. Yes I am a lazy Medifast prepper! The only things I do in the microwave are the brownies, the pancakes and shake cakes.. Penny - LOVE the word stuff! Numbers for today - 156/8/04..... Have to get my time card finished. Should have done that yesterday, but with the rush project, I just didn't have time. I'll bbl to try and catch up.. Smooches to my Tough Lovelies!.. |
Good morning TLlies! I hope you are all having a great Friday. Trying to wake up and also enjoy the blue sky that is so rare in Portland..
Penny, I love the words that you're making with wire. Seriously great!. It's funny how the smaller I get the more a few pounds lost are noticeable on my body. The last 5 pounds I've lost have made a big difference in my waistline.. I've struggled with hunger-both the real kind and the emotional kind-this week. I haven't gone off plan and have come to the boards and have read your posts for motivation and distraction. The real hunger made for a 3.8 pound loss this week (woohoo!). The emotional kind is the result of a stupid man that strung me a long for years as a pseudo-girlfriend, and I was stupid enough ("I'm so fat I can't get anyone else") to go along with it. He's with someone else now and I'm dealing with the emotional aftershocks of stupid choices.. Anyway, I don't mean to vent, but it has been a realization that even after losing the weight of a small teenage girl I still am a food addict and I still have urges to drown my sorrows with sludge. I am totally understanding now all you that have gotten to goal and still hang around these boards!. Enough of my thoughts, hope you all are doing well!.. |
Hi all...just checking in quick to catch up on posts. No time for a long post but wanted say....
Sassy. ...I have a feeling you'll be better off without him. It frees you up to find something better with that new hot body of yours.. |
I love seeing all these losses! Our little group is becoming LITTLER!!!.
Thanks again, Lisa! I relisted that set because I am going to do another one this weekend!. Lovelies, if I were to list these wire things on my site, which ones should I list first? Not many other people are going to understand OhPee - that makes it even more attractive to me! I'm having a blast here (another quiet day - knock wood) coming up with Christmas-y words! I'm going to do ALL of Santa's reindeer! I am quite sure Tough Lovely will be a hit, even outside of our group.. I just had my way with a bag of Chili Nacho Cheese Puffs. They were so good I feel like taking a shower... |
Sassy.
, I am so sorry. I know that hurts. I echo what. Debra. Said, now you are going to find someone who deserves you!.. |
Lisa.
- thank you so much - and yes Shih-poos are VERY cute! Of course, I've spoiled the crap out of her, so she's a brat, but still, very cute.. Susan. - Thank you and congrats on loss! Your thiiiiiiiiis close to goal!. Penny. - I love what Bethie said "the sky's not even the limit here" this could not be more true. The words ARE seriously great. I want the Tough Lovely for the back of my jean jacket! It was 'diva' I couldn't read - but I'm challenged sometimes, it's ok! Ornaments - what a great idea! You're going to be a very, very busy woman!. Hi. De. - can you tell me more about the shake cake? I wasn't crazy about the pancake muffin because I thought (and maybe I didn't make them right) they came out "wet" and that kind of turned me off. A shake cake sounds yummy!. Sassy. - Fabulous job on the loss. And yes I'll be here until I no long exist... I am an addict. I will always be an addict - there's no cure for that. I can just learn how to live with it by being OP every day - including T&M. This will be the first time in my life that I will do a real T&M... I have to go walk Sarge!. Be back later!. Melissa.. |
Good Morning Everyone!.
Jan- Thanks for the coffee. It's snowing here again. I have closed the curtains and plan to have an at home craft day. Carolyn-I am going to just say it now.... HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Debra- Congrats on the awesome weight loss. Isn't it totally thrilling.. Melissa- Welcome! The most wonderful thing is that you never have to go back.. Penny- LOVE IT!!! Do you ever use feathers in your jewelry making?. Mia- Have fun today!!. Deidra- I stop my soup and stir it every 30 seconds or so.. Great news....My food IS coming today. The ups tracking must have been off because this morning the tracking says it will arrive tonight! Woot Woot.. And just because I feel this way, and maybe it will make you smile. This is Hagen my four year old goofy lab. He fell asleep like this... |
I got a box of puffs in my second order, parmesan, and I hated them. They tasted like vitamin powder. I choked them down and for some reason, ordered them again in my third order, along with the chili ones, which I'd been avoiding because I hated the chili soup so much..
Well something was wrong with my first batch because this box of parm puffs is really good, and I like the chili ones too. I also got the controversial pretzels and the cinnamon ones are ok, but the honey mustard ones taste like dried up old ketchup.. All I want to eat anymore is the pancakes (which I could have for every meal) and the savory stuff, so I'm forcing my way through the sweets... |
Aw, ToniMarie, I.
Love. That picture. My dog rolls out of his bed sometimes and just keeps sleeping, half on, half off, but he hasn't pulled that one yet!. I may be adding a chocolate lab to my family if she can get along with my GSD/golden retriever. He'll like her, but the question is if she will like him!.. |
Melissa - congrats on Onederland!!!!.
Dierdra - I make the soups with a LOT more water than recommended (plus some bouillon). Then they don't boil over, even nuking for 2.5-3 minutes straight through... |
Oh love me some labby. You are so right, it doesn't matter if you like the new addition or not. They must be approved by the fur part of your family..
With our hunting preserve we get to see and work with many different types of bird dogs. Although, I am a huge dog lover I have a soft spot for labs and GSPs. Yesterday, a man contacted us to see if we would foster a female lab until we could find her an active hunting home. We do a bit of this every now and then, but I would love to open our own hunting dog rescue (open to only hunting type dogs). DH says bird dogs only, but I could not see passing up a hound or two. Anyway, it's a dream of mine. I hope one day we can make it happen... |
Toni, your dog picture made me smile.
Thanks all for the kind words about my stupid dude, broken heart, emotional eating problem. I'm trying to force myself not to think of him and just move the heck on. I'm a bit in a stall with the online dating thing (no dates or interesting men lined up) but hopefully that ends soon. I'm proud of myself that I haven't given into my emotional eating addiction, but it does suck to have to actually feel the pain... |
*snicker*.
I kind of feel that way about my salmon salad for breakfast: salmon, scallions, and light Italian dressing. Decadent yum.. I love the wire words, Penny! But, um, "Oh Pee"? I can't wear that out!!!.. |
HA HA HA HA that just cracked me up..
You folks are funny and brighten my day.. |
Sassy, I have been a sucker too. "If it will have me, I will put up with it's bullsh**" seemed to be my dating motto for a while there. I know how hard it can be feeling like you were a fool and put up with crap way longer than you should have. *sigh*.
But dealing with those feelings head-on is the right thing to do. Dig into the feelings and you won't need to dig into sludge.. *hugs*.. |
Drive-by posting today! Hopefully I'll get the weekend to post stuff..
Congrats to. Debra. And. Melissa. !. I just want to say that ya'll make me. .. Penny,. My word is YOWZA! I say it ALL the time...and HOLY GUACAMOLE! They are my current favs.. Gotta go...the plumbing is holding up...and I have some major cleaning to do before the contractors gets here to rip out part of my basement. Fun times.. I think I'll borrow. Bethie's. Term: "Tofuties". That's cute... |
Melissa.
- I just recently discovered that mix - so, so adorable. That's what our fluffy friends are made for! To spoil them haha!. ToniMarie. - LOVE that picture!! What a doll!! So freakin' cute!. Sassy. - You can do so much better. It's getting your heart to know that, but in time you'll see. And the online dating rut goes in swings. Some months I get NADA... then a huge influx and you can't keep up...then NADA...and then WHAMMOO. I wish they spread themselves out more! I have a feeling an influx is headed your way! I will it so!. I love my little Farrah, I'm going into mommy mode and will post a picture of her. I found this old part of a Halloween costume the other day...and she loves to dress up - no joke. Here she is in all her glory... Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl!.. |
I'm covering my eyes every time someone writes the "O" word! Oh how I hate that frivolous ridiculous word for something that is a HUGE achievement and deserves so much better!!!.
Melissa - Try cooking your pancake a little longer. When I'm at home, I don't generally make them because my microwave is really low wattage. It can take almost 2 minutes for them to cook at home. At work, 65 seconds does the trick. Another trick is to let it sit for a few minutes after nuking. That seems to help firm them up as well. If I don't see that, I put it back in until I do.. Shake cakes are very simple. This recipe can be used for sweet and savory Medifast packets.. MF packet. 1/4-1/2 tsp baking powder. 2 TBSP egg beaters. 2-3 TBSP water. Mix dry ingredients well, then add the wet. Batter should be thick but not clumpy. Pour in a coffee mug and nuke for 2 minutes (approximately. This is per my home MW, so you may need to play with the time a little). Let cool. You can then slice and toast, top with marinara and cheese for little pizzas, or garlic salt and parm then broil for awesome garlic "bread". Play with your food and try substituting some of the water with SF syrup if you have the condiments available.. Regardless of whether it's pancakes or shake cake, it is not going to hurt to put in back in the MW and cook a little longer until they are no longer wet... |
I do pancakes at home in the microwave, and mine is low wattage. I pour the batter into a wide, shallow cereal bowl, wider than a soup mug by about 2 inches, and nuke for 1.30.
I was having a hard time getting anything other than smush at home until I switched to the wider bowls. Now, I have a finished cake that's about 1/2 to 3/4 inch tall, dry and cooked through, and delicious. I just use the normal mixing instructions.. I could eat pancakes for all 5 meals... |
Tonimarie, I haven't done anything with feathers, although my cat Gary would love it if I did!.
Shake it, Farrah!. Cheri, how was Hop? Thinking about taking Emma tomorrow.. This is my own Ginger Tabby..... |
ADORABLE! I just love our furry friends. They make life so much better..
Penny I had a cat from age 17 until this year that looked like yours. I miss him every day, but I'm happy we had 17+ years together (and I got him as an adult so who knows how long he really lived!) I firmly believe orange tabbies are the wiliest of cats...
*Sneaks in*.
I'm working today, but found a minute to stop by and wave hello! Still waiting to hear if we have baseball practice tonight. If not, I may have time to catch up!! Tomorrow is weigh in and I'm hoping to see something better than last week!! Have a fantastic Friday my Lovelies!.. |
Alright Lovies,.
I am planning a vintage travel themed bridal shower for my soon to be SIL. The invitations are boarding passes, the cake is a suitcase, there will be newspaper flowers, ect.. I just need to come up with game or activities that fit the theme. Any ideas?.. |
Haha, I was actually surprised when I saw it in this thread...I remember that word and the "T" word were thoroughly banned back in the day of the Rogues...
Okay, it took me awhile to figure out what the dreaded "O" word is. I couldn't get past what happens at the end of really good sexual activity...
Zoe, my vet once told me that a male orange tabby is the closest thing you can get to a dog! So true!.
I prefer Land of the Ones. I agree that the "O word" totally diminishes the milestone. Even Land of One Der is better. But not much... |
Hey, everyone. I'm not really sure what the O-word is (do I even want to know) although I tried... you might be surprised how many words start with "o" in a thread that moves this quickly...

Hmm just read a Medifast post someone was asking about bison. She said she was using 7 oz as her lean but, thinks she should be using 5. Medifast answered that they looked up bison and the one they found fell under the lean catagory so 5 oz would be right..
Umm what's the difference between buffalo (listed on the leanest catagory, serving 7 oz) and bison which isn't listed. I thought the two were the same actually.. Has me scratching my head... |
:ducking head: sorry about the faux pas... I didn't know! Awaiting sense-knocking smacks!..
Thanks Freya-I agree with Carolyn that what you wrote was really profound...
Toni, A friend here just had a shower with a circus theme to it. I'll ask her what kinds of games they played at that shower and see if you can turn it around for travel...
<nodding> Yes they were! We felt it was just too important a milestone to have such an unbelievably STEWPID name! I cringe every single time I see it!..

From Wikpedia.
Members of the genus Bison are large even-toed ungulates within the subfamily Bovinae. Two extant and four extinct species are recognized. The surviving species are the American bison, also known as the American buffalo (although it is not related to the true buffalo), Bison bison (with two subspecies, the plains bison, Bison bison bison, and the wood bison, Bison bison athabascae), found in North America, and the European bison, or wisent (Bison bonasus), found in Europe and the Caucasus. While these species are usually grouped into their own genus, they are sometimes included in the closely related genus Bos,[1] together with cattle, gaur, kouprey and yaks, with which bison have a limited ability to interbreed.. Buffalo may refer to:. [edit]Animals. [edit]Bovine. African Buffalo or Cape Buffalo (Syncerus caffer). American Buffalo, North American colloquial name for American Bison (Bison bison). Wisent, or Eurasian Buffalo (Bison bonasus). Water Buffalo (Bubalus bubalis), domestic bovid widely used for dairy, meat and draught. Wild Water Buffalo (Bubalus arnee), the ancestor of the domestic water buffalo. Dwarf Buffalo, or anoa, any of several small species of Bubalus. Basically, they are the same thing. I would take the nutrition on Buffalo, rather than Bison. I'm not at all surprised that Medifast couldn't figure it out <shaking head> Buffalo meat is SUPER lean and the only type that might need to be limited to 5 oz is ground. My DH is a butcher. I know things.. Hey Claire? Did you get the banner I sent you last night?.. |
That pretty much covers my marriage to my ex husband. I put up with so much cr@p just because I wanted to be married and I thought he was the only one who would want me..
Freya is right, deal with those feelings head on! Dealing with the feelings is way better than dealing with the aftermath of sludge. Hugs.. |
That was part of it for me, too. I didn't think I could do better. My ex-husband was an emotionally abusive SOB and I sucked it up for 4 years. In the end, though, the experience (along with a couple of other bad relationships) helped teach me that it is better to be alone than with someone who treats you poorly...
De, this is for you:.
Twoterville. Onederland. Twoterville. Onederland. Hehe.. |
De.
, I did get the banner thank you! I was looking for a way to include it in my page, because I feel like my signature is already too long... but maybe I shouldn't have my goals and weight loss in my signature in the first place.. To everyone who's talking about the bad decisions to settle... I'm glad you've said that. I haven't been in a serious relationship yet in my life, and I think I've been careful so far not to get into relationships just because I'm desperate not to be lonely. Still, my standards are incredibly high (as they are in many parts of my life), which really worries me sometimes. Is it better to lower my standards a LITTLE or stay single forever?.. |
Defriend Sassy - Check! <snort>.
Don't make me add to my ignore list missy!.. |
Claire, NEVER lower your standards! It's better to be alone than to be with some jerk and feel like you're alone..
It's been awhile since we had a LOLCats Friday..... |
Hi all!.
Zoe. - I LOVE the parm puffs, glad your 2nd batch was good. I actually won't get them anymore because I don't want to stop eating them!. And thank you. De. For the shake cake recipe and thank you. Zoe. For the pancake lesson!!!!! I will try again on that one!. So car is taken care of, Gigi is taken care of, I've had chicken wild rice soup for lunch - now to shower. Dh will be home in about 45 minutes. We're both working on the front room and then hopefully a little shopping. The rose quartz pink puffy heart will not go on the charm bracelet I have so I want a chain that is thinner.. Anyway, check back later!. Melissa.. |
Hehe, I'm feeling a little extra sassy today. No more O and T words-I pinky swear :P.
Love the pic Penny-I needed a laugh today!.. |
Claire.
, lower your standards a LOT and get out there! Being in relationships takes practice like anything else. If you stay alone, waiting for the guy from a romance novel, you never get to learn how to be with real guys, with all their farts, stupid jokes, and rough spots.. Leave your standards high in terms of how they treat you - never take abuse from a man. But as for the rest of it? Just date some people. You will learn far more about what you like in a man by being in relationships than you will by thinking about it. You can't graduate from school without sitting through a lot of classes. And you can't find Mr. Right without kissing some frogs.. What we think we want when we don't have relationship practice is a mishmash of things we want and stuff our culture tells us we should want. It's distanced from reality. The only way to bridge the gap is to try things out - and you might surprise yourself. That guy with the "total dealbreaker" thing about him? He might be a wonderful love you will be forever grateful you gave a shot. And you might find that you don't mind the smoking, or unemployment, or age difference, or weight problem, or whatever thing you thought at first was a total hard limit.. Good luck!.. |
Freya.
, thanks for the advice. I have definitely dated quite a few duds, just to find out what I really want... and then there were the guys who I liked well enough but then disappeared for several weeks and reappeared with girlfriends. (One of the major problems and yet advantages of online dating is that you find out right away if you weren't the right person. Although one time a guy disappeared after what I thought was a great date, and then reappeared about two years later married. That was interesting, considering we were only 18 when we went on the date. :P). Anyway... I guess I've never seen proof that smoking or constantly texting on dates or unemployment WASN'T a deal-breaker, since they're often indicative of deep-rooted problems. Still, I'm keeping my options open for sure... |
Totally an excellent point. Totally..
For me? I like adventure more than stability. I'd like to pretend that's not true, but, well, I like new horizons and big flaming passion. So I really don't regret getting on the roller coaster with some people who eventually became disappointing. The six months to a year before I couldn't take it anymore was well worth it to me.. I am a bit older now, and my mind says I should find something more stable and longer-term. I'm not sure that my emotions are on board with that, because I sure did have a good 7-week crazy run with the last totally-unsuitable guy!!!. When you find the right balance, let me know the trick. I'm keeping my mind open... |
Sassy - You really are skirting danger, aren't you? I laughed though. He he..
Penny - Funny kitty's. Great for a Friday laugh.. Okay, we are off to see Hop. It starts at noon. I am bringing a pb bar and a bag with ten (yes, ten) raw almonds. And a bottled water. Yum. Good movie food. I'm good with that... |
Hey - web research question for ya'all..
I'm thinking of doing a blog on weight loss topics. Do any of ya'all have recommendations of popular weight loss sites? The general purpose ones, not diet-specific. Where are people going to talk about weight loss these days?. Thanks for any suggestions!!!.. |
Weight loss message boards, huh? I'm still trying to come up with baby shower travel games ... Let me think on it...
You have to pay to access the WW board and, of course, that is diet specific, too, but it is a big community. Yes, thank you, I know that was helpful and I was glad to share it..
I just googled "weight loss message boards" and there are some promising links... |
Hi lovelies! Are you staying out of trouble in my absence? Miami rocks...
Ha! Yes, of course I have and will Google it! I was just wondering if people knew of like "the big ones" - you can't always tell who owns the market from a google search...
Freya:.
Locarbfriends. Sparkpeople. I don't know if fitday has boards. Livestrong.. |
Coffee's ready to pour! I'm gonna look outside and see if there's sunshine.
Anywhere. BBL.. |
