OK, I'm here, I'm here. I was busy fantasizing about Melissa/Sadida's fabulous Mexico vacation and inserting myself into her gorgeous photos, while waiting for yet another snow storm starting today and dumping through tomorrow..

EMT, as far as the sleep monitoring, all BodyBugg models do it now. There used to be two models, the GoWear Fit and the Bugg, The GWF monitored sleep, the Bugg did not. The GoWear Fit went away. The Body Bugg Media Fit (as marketed by the BodyBugg company, and the Body Bugg v3 and SP models (24hourFitness and ApexFitness) are all made by the same company and are all the same thing, except for the display mechanisms. The difference in names is based on licensing agreements only. The SP is blue-tooth enabled and works with your Smart Phone.

All versions require a subscription to the data base..

Everyone who is interested should "Like" the FB BodyBugg page and get on there to read about people's experiences, pros, cons, glitches, fixes, etc..

SLW, did you log your foods on the website when you used it before, or log them elsewhere and just enter the totals, or what? I've been logging here on MyPlan, and it would be easier for me, I think, to continue doing that and just load my totals at the end of the day when I update on the Bugg site....

For people who are considering buying used Buggs, from the Bodybugg FB page:.

Question: If one were to buy a previously owned BB V3, what would need to be done for it to work for the new owner? I may have an opportunity to get one with the digital display for a great price, but don't know if it would be worth it in the long run. Also, how do you tell which version it is? Thanks!.

Answer: you would need to purchase an online subscription at myapex.com then you can associate the new armband with that subscription..

Just remember that the original warranty is not transferrable...

I was about to start putting in the Medifast stuff into Apex, but just don't want to take the time, so even though it would be nice to have everything on one site, I just use MyPlan to log food and Apex for my calorie burn. Okay, I think I'm understanding now, but trust me, I think you will have a hard time eating 2200 calories. There's no way I will ever do that, I don't care how many calories I'm burning. But now I'm getting the gist of maintaining. So in other words, if I only burned 1500 in a day, I would eat 1500 only. Eat less if I want to lose. But you really can't do that till the next day if you don't know what your calories are until the end of the day.

I probably do a good bit of the same during the week because my job is basically a sedentary one. Unfortunately they don't allow me to stand up and take testimony down. haha. that would be an interesting fete!.

In fact, I am already thinking about changing my goal weight from 145 to 135. I will see when I get to 145 which is in about 5 lbs. When I get there, I am going to schedule a session or two with my old trainer Ben. One of our items on the docket will be a conversation about maintaining and how the BB plays into that.

Is this a trainer by phone or do you have a 24hour fitness near you? To be honest, I thought I'd change my goal and did for a while. Then changed it back to my first one because I didn't want to make it more difficult for me to maintain and I like seeing the fact that I'm 7 under goal. That gives me more of a thrill. My WW goal is 141 so i'm way below that. I don't ever plan on changing that goal. Seriously you will continue to lose weight in transition. How tall are you?..

Oh no, my trainer is a real trainer that I had at 24 Hour fitness for 2 years. I just could no longer afford him and kinda dumped him and smart eating at the same time. I will see how I feel when I get to 145. I have been at 135 before and felt very comfortable. I won't go to low. I'm good at that sort of self examination.

I am 5' 6.5". I have small bones. I have always been very active, so even in my teens as rail thin as I was (see avitar.

) I weighed 125 when people thought I couldn't have been a drop over 110. Then in my 20's, I weighed 130 ish, then in my 40's, I weighed 135..so..I am thinking a little lower than 145 may be okay, but I will know in 5 lbs or so. I also will take into account what Ben says and he doesn't like his clients to be too thin or have to eat like they are trying to lose just to maintain...

Turns out they had overcharged me a couple years ago and I have a $200 credit!!! So at this point I'll have to make the decision on when to pull the trigger and start doing weight lifting. Thinking I would like to be within 5-10 pounds of my goal weight.. I'll continue doing cardio until that time..

Well, any info you can send along would be greatly appreciated! So you are over three inches taller than me. I would think at 145 you would feel and look great. I felt even fine at 141 but know that's at my higher end. After my two kids were born I weighed 115, but if I did that now I'd look like a skeleton. It's weird how I can feel comfortable at 127 at the age of 51 and wear the sizes I wear. I'm not sure how that works, but if I stay here I'll be happy as a clam.

Everyone pretty much does. Besides, if you use MyPlan you need to change it before you hit 145 cause it will put your Plan right into transition mode. I changed mine after the fact and it wouldn't change back so every day it looked like I was eating more than I should. You will really revv up your body once you add things back in. I think as long as I don't put white things back in my diet I will be fine...

I also work in healthcare, so surrounded by med people. We shall see. I just randomly picked 145 to have a number to start with. It also has a lot to do with bone structure, so it's not all cookie cutter.

I may give myself a buffer I may not..

What do you mean Myplan automatically goes into transition. It never tells me what to eat. OHHH...food logging. So that all changes?? I didn't know that. Still a bit confused. I plan on transitioning very slowly because well..I want to. How will it know that? New territory...

If you don't change your goal to lower, then at 145 it will automatically say you have met your goal and will go into transition mode. Meaning week one will look the same, week two will lose a meal, weeks three and four will lose another meal, so that it will only show that you click on 5, or 4 or 3 Medifast meals. I used it but had to ADD an Medifast meal myself. So once I got deeper into transition, I just switched to myfitnesspal.com and log it all there. It keeps track of the protein, fibers, carbs, everything, even all vitamins that I'm getting from the various foods..

I tried to change my goal but once it grabbed it at 135 then it wouldn't go back to the normal 5&1 plan so I gave up and did as I did. You are lucky to have your daughter as a trainer. My son can help me with that stuff. He did nutrition in college and loved it, but I at this point I know what I should and should not eat..i.e., PB and almonds and junk and white things!.

Oh, and it won't know that you have extended your transition, it will still go to weeks 1, 2, 3 and 4 without you being able to change. You will just have to adapt or switch as I did...

Actually, PB (the kind with no added sugar) and almonds are very healthy. However, not if you want to eat a truckload of it when you really intended to have a little bit..

Neither are a trigger for me. Pistachios..that's a different story. I like them WAY too much..

Oh..I get it. I am not too concerned what the Medifast Myplan says. I have so many things in private foods because often, my chicken is different than Medifast says so I just go with my label because I trust it. Also, I doubt I will do it in weeks..more like phases. I may go in and change my goal just to avoid that, but who knows. I am fairly sure I will move away from my plan as well when I get into transition or maintenance.

I like the idea of having my calories in and calories out in the same place. Handy Dandy...

Actually there is a way to both change your goal weight AND to change the phase of your plan. I did both, based on instructions I found on the boards by searching. I might remember how I did it, if you need me to. I went back to 5&1 from Transition, and changed week 2 of T back to week 1. It is doable...

Sue, I like those ideas because I have no intention of flying through transition. I want to take it slowly..I think..

I will try to find these nifty instructions. Do you remember if it was just chatter on the threads or was it in some actual Medifast materials. Or..possibly both?.

Ugh..ice storm. Love snow, used to rain, thrive in sun and I just really don't like ice. Either does Olivia (chihuahua). She looks at me when she hears ice like she is saying "I'll just hold it"...

Cindy is our Chihuahua. We rescued her when she was 3. She is totally blind, but you'd never know it. This time of year, she tends to leave us brochures about moving to Arizona. For really bad weather, she uses a pee pad. Somehow, she never misses..

I will see if I can figure out those instructions for changing your plan phase...

OK, this is how to change your plan phase. Go to Log Meals on MyPlan. Click on the arrow under Tools and Settings near top of page. Click on Change Plan Phase. Click on the dot to the left of the phase you want. Hit Continue. That should do it...

A funny. I was looking at what I've burned today on Apex and clicked over to yesterday. I was looking at the weird spike at about ten pm. Get your minds out of the gutter. I remembered taking the dog out around then...as I was walking back through the parking lot, a pit bull came out of an apt. I wasn't expecting it and had her on her flexi leash all the way extended.

I couldn't reel her in fast because she had run to the side. Geesh. The pit bull was SO sweet, but just the fact that she obnoxiously ran at a dog, was enough for me. I figured the spike was from my adrenalin and reeling. Then I remembered..I also changed my sheets and flipped my mattress when I got back in...

That IS funny, since no one got hurt! Too bad it was the mattress flipping, and not the fear. Otherwise, a ride on a roller coaster or watching a scary movie could be our workout for the day!..

Evening, Ladies! We are waiting for the ice storm to happen here. It is drizzling a little bit. I'm praying it will pass us by...doubtful, though..

Sue, I wish I had known about the settings. Stupid of me not to think about that, but that's okay, I used it till I was able to. Once I started to eat the Kay's Naturals pretzels, etc., I had to change to myfitnessplan.com..

SLW, I'm still winning the auction but there's still 11 hours to go. Maybe everyone will be too busy with the storm and forget to bid..

*lol* There's a couple more that end tomorrow, too, so I'll get a couple more chances to bid if I lose the first one. Still haven't heard from that girl. Kinda wish I would, but that's how it goes..

Btw, Sue, I'm so glad to know you foster dogs. I'd love to do that, but am always worried I'd want to keep them all, besides, I have three cats and a jack so it probably wouldn't go over too well and hubby works from home so wouldn't be conducive to that, but maybe when we retire I could do it. We've adopted all our pets except for Maya (JR) because we wanted a pure puppy for once. Our other jack died one year ago this month. Still miss her, though..

Anyway, glad to know we are all animal lovers...

Finally!.

I've spent the past hour (no joke) trying to get my apex account up and running. I had access, but then I had to install the new java, but first I had to uninstall the old one, then I had to install the new body bug software, then I had to update the firmware on my bodybugg....

You get the picture. I remember having all the setup problem last time too (I was on a different computer then). I'm very computer savvy too, so not sure why I struggled with it so much..

It's done though and I'm really happy I just happened to click onto Pet Lady's thread last night because I'm so excited to be doing this again..

I look forward to discussing this with all of you...

Our family fostered Whippets and Greyhounds. Well, we tried to. We ended up owning 2 Whippets and two Greyhounds. However, I think now I could do it. We were dogless at the time, so it worked out well. They were wonderful dogs..

Sunny day here in Oregon. Not the norm. All the fir trees look wonderful with the sun shining down through them...

I went to the market today, was only inside for 30 minutes, and came out to a car encased in ice. And there is more coming....

Hope you find a good deal on the Bugg..

No, I don't foster dogs. I just give them forever homes. Two hard luck cases, and one pure puppy for us, too, the only one we've ever had. She's a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. All the ones in rescue were morbidly ill. We had a wonderful recue Jack Russell Terrorist for 5 years..

We have 7 pets now, the 3 dogs, 2 cats (one we rescued and imported back to the US from Costa Rica while we were there), and 2 parrots. But, we are insane...

My cousin lives in Oregon. Portland or a small community around that. I've never been, but his pictures are gorgeous from there..

SLW~ I'm from the PNW too, up in Wa state at the base of the Cascades on the east side. We're getting uber cold weather but it's clear as can be. Hoping for some snow to come our way soon..

Sue~ Good info about changing the plan phase... thanks I'll catalog that, just in case..

Sadida~ hunker down with a cup of chicken soup and hot chocolate.

Do you have electric heat.. do you have alternatives for electricity or do you not have that problem in your area?.

Chickie~ Good to hear that you got your bodybugg up and running.. if it took a computer savy gal like yourself an hour to install, it's going to take me all day.. eeek.

>>Looking forward to seeing how many calories I burn.. it totally makes sense to address the weight maintenance issue this way...

Ha! It's a small community near a big city. Actually, the town I live in is a city..however, it is considered a bedroom community of Portland. Bedroom communities are where a lot of people who work in the city live. As in work in the city, but bedroom (home) is not in the city...

Don't usually have that problem but have a back-up system in the basement in case. Other than that, no backup like gas or propane, etc. Lots of blankets might work!.

They are only expecting about 1/10th of an inch in our area..

So far I'm still winning my auction for a new bodybugg! I sure hope everyone is asleep when the auction runs out! *lol*..

SLW and Sue, I didn't win the darn auction early this morning. Lost it by $4. Oh, well. I should have bid a bit higher, but anyway...on to another auction. There's a couple more ending today..

Bummer about the auction, Sadida. I used to use snipe software for eBay. eBay kept messing with their site so that the snipe software wouldn't work, so the developer would "fix" it. This went on and on, until the developer couldn't keep up, so you'd download the latest version, set the software to snipe, but it wouldn't always work. Too bad, it was great while it lasted. Set it with your absolutely highest bid, tell it when to bid (usually 10 secs.

I miss it..

I know your Bugg is coming from somewhere, soon. (where's the fingers crossed smilie?).

And what will you "take" from SLW? Confused..

Also, I posted on the T&M thread a question to you about fruit amounts in week 2...
