Question I have... Medifast Diet phase 2 carb count? Looking forward for any answer or 2. My other question... Welcome to the Melt Aways week of 3/23 and home of the Melt Away Wrapper Challenge. New folks are always welcome. Stop by and say hello and hang around for a while.

And, anyone can start a new weekly thread..

Yesterday's Wrappers.

Calories: 929.9.

Carbs: 78.3.

Water: Yes.

Log: Yes.

OP: Yes.

Exercise: Upper body work-out with cardio in between: circuit style, 1 hour.

Well I already tried to post a new thread and when I hit submit, I was kicked off the internet. Urgggg! Oh well, tis life..

Gloria: Are you in Oz yet? Pesky tornados!.

I haven't tried the soft serve. I have vowed to try everything once. One poster said she made her soft serve and it was too icy, so she let it sit out until it melted and then froze the whole concoction. And then, it came out like soft serve..

I have lost 1.6 pounds this week. This whole month has been 1 pound then three pounds then 1 pound. You can check it out on My Page where I've logged the past two months under my successes. Random! Well, it's my two month anniversary on MF. It seems longer, LOL. I have estimated that I will be on Medifast for approximately 3 more months before reaching goal.

I don't even know if 160 is going to be my final goal. This figure I picked based on the last time I lost weight and was in the early 170's. By looking at my photos and the size I was wearing at the time and how I felt so I think 160 is a good range for me being 5'6. I didn't use BMI so much as a factor. We'll see how it goes when I get closer..

HAPPY HUMP DAY!.

Tracy..

Barb, you must live in Northern MN! I saw you were being dumped on. Stay cozy!.

Tracey - congrats on the loss. One pound closer to your goal!.

My weigh in was the best since week one for me. -4.6. Talk about a happy dance this morning. I guess the body said it was okay to release some of the fat or something. But I too am seeing a cycle for loosing. I will loose big (3+) then a medium (in the 2's) and then a little one (1lb or so).

It will be interesting to see if that holds true..

If I am OZ my DH wants to know if I am the good witch or the bad witch - I told him he could answer his own question. LOL.

Our storms were pretty intense last night. Tornados all around, but luckily no damage. The atmosphere is still pretty cool so they didn't gain the strength needed, even though some hit the ground. Here we had high winds, hail and a great lighting show that Midwest storms are so famous for. My DH stayed in the basement, this is only his second summer here so not standing at the window like me watching..

My third shipment of Medifast will be here Friday, I am getting excited again!!!!! This I hope doesn't wear off for a long time!..

GLORIA, WAY TO GO! I heard that it happens, all of a sudden, you get a high number. That's got to feel great!!! That means you are working hard! I've always been an owner of flying monkeys instead of ruby red slippers. I'm glad you're doing ok in the stormy weather..

Hi Ladies,.

We decided to take a last minute vacation. So, I'll try to check in for accountability. We'll be gone until Sunday. Miraculously, I fit into my size large bathing suit. Woooohooooo! I decided to try a few of my bathing suits on to see what I needed to bring. I was surprised to bring a couple of the smaller ones.

One skirt bottom was way too big. Oh, what a shame. LOL.

Half way through the trip, honey says, "Hey, did you bring your scale?" Whoops! Luckily, I have brought mostly pre-portioned items like veggie burgers and Al Fresco chicken sausages. We had to run through a yuck-yuck fast food place for dinner on the way here. If you are familiar with the South, north of Florida, we have Bojangles. It's a fried chicken place. I had their new roasted buffalo chicken bites. They have no skin and are not fried.

Another OP success!.

The condo we are staying in is cute, but small. We plan to cook most of the time and go out for dinner only once if possible which is friendly to being OP and friendly on the wallet. I did remember to bring my measuring cup, measuring spoons, and way more Medifast food than I need. I also have plenty of water..

They have a small gym which my youngest(14) wants to go to. He's actually lost almost 40 pounds since he's moved in with us this past August. I'm so proud. He doesn't ask for anything in his lunch box but a sandwich and a piece of fruit. I've been training him and teaching him about weights, circuit training, and how to do various sets of exercises to work certain muscle groups. He looks fantastic!.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Wish me OP luck and warm, sunny weather!!..

Tracy - Have a great time!!!!! You are following my motto - Failing to Plan is Planning to Fail. You have set yourself up for success and I wouldn't be surprised if you find those 180's when you step on that scale again!!!!!.

My third shipment arrives today - I am as excited as I was when I got my first one so I guess that is a good sign. I am missing the Soy Crisps (ranch) - the crunchy items really help me because I miss that more than sweets..

Funny with the big whoosh, the scale went backwards the last couple mornings in very small amounts, but it always does this to me - one reason I shouldn't be a daily weigher, but it continues with a cycle I see..

Hope everyone is doing okay - I will be lonely here this weekend with Tracy gone, so come out come out wherever you all are!!!!..

My hat's off to all of you who have to stock food and make "regular" meals for family while sticking to Medifast plan. Had grandchildren for the weekend and by the time I bought and cooked their food, I was totally uninterested in eating my MF. On all other days, I'm the only one I have to shop and prepare meals for so keeping my cupboards and refrigerator "clean" is not a problem. True, I ate wholesome food, no junk, but the point is, I was off program on Sat and Sun. Tomorrow's another day, so I'll get back to MF. I sent all the kids' groceries home with my son so I won't be tempted to eat them..

Sally, good plan in getting rid of the unneeded food. I am lucky too that I only worry about my food. DH does all our food shopping and I put only on the list what I need and then he takes care of his food. I am not even tempted in the stores..

Still OP - made the cauliflower pizza Sat. night and a taco salad last night using ground turkey - they both felt like such treats. Having some new bars to try and the pretzels back, make this MFer a happy camper..

I tried the Beef Stew yesterday, mmmm I thought it was good. I really don't have any issues with any of the food. I am out of Hot Coca so making the Bon Bons out of anything chocolate. LOL.

Have a good Monday!..

I, too, am fortunate that I don't have to cook often. My sweetie likes to cook and takes care of most of it. When our son (I have shared custody) is at our house, we share the meat and prepare sides so we all get items we like. When they have pizza, I break out the cauliflower crust. When they have lasagne, I make green bean lasagne for me. It works out pretty well...

Hi Everyone. It seems that the group is dwindling. I have not really been on either. I just haven't been home. I have been trying to spend less time on the computer as well instead trying to do something productive. Also, last week, there were 5 nights I just wasn't home.

It seems that you have all been having some nice victories!! I have to say I was proud that last week, with eating out 5 times, I lost 3.4 pounds! Other than that, I am waiting for my next shipment. I got the email that it shipped, but the tracking number isn't showing up on the fedex website though. They are pretty quick though because I think the last one came from Maryland and I am in NJ, so not too far away..

Tracy, I hope you had a great vacation...awesome that that bathing suit was too big! I am looking forward to going away again next Friday to see my sister again and my new nephew!! Seattle here I come! This is the trip I was supposed to take because the baby wasn't supposed to be born when I had off the week of President's week! Lucky me to have a great DH willing to hold the fort down and watch ds while I go!.

Barb-Tell me about this green bean dish! I also love the cauliflower pizzahas totally saved me because prior to trying it for the first time, I swear all I thought about was pizza!.

Cathy, sorry you are having so many problems with TOM. Hopefully it will all work out soon!.

Sally, congrats on making it through the weekend with your grandchildren!.

Again, sorry I don't get on much anymore, hope you don't mind me jumping back on when I have a minute!..

Hey, everyone. Sorry I haven't been around recently. I've been trying to finish up my thesis (48 pages, at this point!) during spring break, because I wouldn't have as much time while school's in session. Now I'm back in good old Michigan, and the temperature dropped 50 degrees between when I left Phoenix and when I arrived in Detroit!.

I'm still on-plan, though I was not perfect over spring break. I still resisted EVERY off-plan food, which I think is great, considering that when I was on Medifast at home before, I used even a slight veering off-plan (think too much green) as an excuse to binge on everything in sight. I still haven't eaten ANY bread, or done anything off-plan except have too much green or lean. I'm pretty proud of myself, all in all, and now I'm just 1.2 pounds from having lost 15 pounds! I really hope that will show on the scale tomorrow but if not, I still know my behaviors have changed, and I'm doing well..

I am worried about hair loss, so I might have to stop Medifast a few weeks before my graduation and just do the South Beach diet or similar I don't want to graduate bald! I'm stopping Medifast after this batch of food runs out, anyway, since I don't have the money, and my mom (who's a doctor) wants to use me as a guinea pig for the "FirstLine Therapy" program her office is starting. Has anyone heard of that diet? Apparently it's pretty successful..

Okay, that's all for now! Just wanted to check in. Hope everyone's doing well!..

Hi all. I tried the turnip fries last night. They were pretty good, but Im not sure if I used too much spice or if the turnips themselves are spicy! And then I opted for melted cheese on top instead of meat, so it tasted salty. Overall, a nice option, though..

I noticed the dwindle, too. On another group I'm in, we've been doing a question of the day. It keeps the group going with commentary, and various people feel a little more at ease jumping in and answering. What do y'all think? Like the idea?.

I'll ask the first (and maybe only) question....

Do you belong to another group, besides the Meltaways?.

I joined a group in the 100+ section called the Sugarbombs, with a lot of newbies, so the interest and activity is still high. It makes me wonder about the people who've been here forever. Did they all eventually join a single group? Like the T&M Pinks. Surely they didn't all start out in that group?.

Have a great week everyone!..

HI LADIES!!!.

We got back from our mini-vacation Sunday afternoon. It is super cold again. Yuck. I thought I had traded in my scarves for flip-flops, but oh well. Driving home yesterday we stopped at a restaurant. Unfortunately, it was Italian with no good choices for me, so we left and kept trucking.

Everybody loved it. I had a great piece of salmon..

Jennifer, I noticed you were on the thread about the lady with the hair loss question. A hairstylist commented later on with what she uses at her salon. She also said that hair loss is a symptom associated with weight loss in general. I thought this made since after reading about ketosis and hair loss. Most diets have some form of slight ketosis..

Claire, you might want to find that thread. They had a lot of recommendations..

Melissa, three cheers for being down with some pounds..

Barb and Gloria, when my hubs cooks, it's usually Cuban food. But, he also likes to grill which is sort of a break from cooking..

The Daily Question:.

I'm not a member of any other groups, basically b/c I don't have the time. I do read a lot of the current threads on recipes etc. I also try to post daily positives on that thread. And, I log in on the Wednesday Weighers thread..

Saturday Wrappers:.

Log, OP, Water, Exercise: Yes.

Calories: 822.

Carbs: 81.5.

Sunday Wrappers:.

Log, OP, Water, Exercise: Didn't drink enough water and didn't exercise b/c I was traveling in the car..

Calories: 855.

Carbs: 86.4.

Today, I took a peek at the scale. I am 189!!!! No longer in the 190's. I haven't changed my ticker, b/c I want to wait until Wednesday. While on vacation, I bought two pairs of 14s one capri and one pair of jeans, and size 16 slacks. I bought a size Large dress and a size 14 dress. I also got some great Brighton jewelry at the QVC outlet.

I also pulled out some more stuff from the boxes in the garage..

It just reinforces that I can do this and I am doing this!..

Hi, all! Happy losing!!.

I belong to the thread that Jennifer is on, too. She can't get rid of me! ROFLPIMP.

Perhaps as members feel more confident in their dieting, they may need less support for a group. Plus, I'm sure some folks fall away from the discipline of the diet in general and don't come back for a while..

Green Bean Lasagne.

1 1/2 cups cooked green beans.

1/8 tsp garlic salt.

1/4 tsp basil.

3/4 cup part skim mozarella cheese.

1/4 cup 1% cottage cheese.

2 tbp marinara sauce.

2 tsp parmesan cheese.

Prepare beans and place in baking dish. Mix garlic salt & basil with cottage cheese and spread over beans. sprinkle mozzarella over top. Bake at 350 for 20 min, Broil a little if desired to brown cheese. Sprinkle with parmesan.

1 complete l&g and 2.4 condiments.

BTW, we Minnesotans would refer to this as a "hotdish." However, I'm not sure if the requisite jello would be OP. Yes, it's true, my friends, I have a warped sense of humor.....

FirstLine Therapy- sounds interesting, but I've not heard of it, either. We'll be here for you, Claire, if you want to talk. A girl can't have too many friends..

Tom can be nasty, Cathy, sorry he is giving you a hard time..

I can understand the perks of being a Grandma, Sally, even though I'm not one yet. You get all the fun and then you can send them home so Grandma can rest! I love playdoh and coloring books and painting with fingerpaints, and drawing (not on the walls, please), making mud pies, reading books out loud etc. I plan to be the fun Grandma!.

Jennifer, I made turnip fries this weekend, too, just spraying them with olive oil Pam and sprinkling some garlic powder and salt on top. Not too shabby. However, putting cheese on them sounds really great. Cheese on almost anything sounds really great. I'll have to try that, too...

Claire, I think I have the.

South Beach Diet Recharged.

Book somewhere around here. If I find it, do you want me to mail it to you? I never had any luck on it, but it does have some great recipes! I did have luck on Atkin's, but I never transitioned off of it properly and I didn't follow it to a T. I started off in phase two and still lost weight. But when I was done, I ate a bunch of carbs and boom, weight was back in no time. I think I must be sensitive to carbs. If I look at bread, I gain weight.

I really hope you can stay on Medifast for as long as you can. I haven't heard of the diet your Mom mentioned. Does it come with prepared food?.

Barb and Jennifer: I haven't seen the thread for the Sugar Bombs. The logo is too cute! I had mashed turnips last week. They were pretty good, a lot like Cauliflower mashed..

Gloria, I like your place mats! So springy and cute for Easter!.

Sally, how long to you have the grandkids? Do they live close? I have an interesting trigger food, cereal. I could eat three bowls back to back. I bought the kids Cheerios, which is pretty healthy as cereals go. I look at it and long for a bowl of cereal. It's hard..

Well, I started a new weight training program. I'm on my second week. I really need to buy heavier weights. Once you get used to lifting, you got to move on to something heavier. Plus, my youngest is weight training and he definitely needs something heavier. I've been cruising second hand stores to see if I find any b/c they get expensive.

But, I have some videos I can do with it. I also got.

The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

, for 50 cents! It may still be on the best seller list. I haven't started it yet. Anyone book readers? Do you have any favorite authors?..

Hey Girls -.

The scale FINALLY moved for me again! Its been over a week and half and it was only 1.2 pounds, but I'll take it!.

I believe my stall was caused by my TOM and probably knocking myself out of ketosis. My one dog has to take meds twice a day and I put his pills in a scoop of peanut butter, well I love peanut butter and was taking a bit for myself each time thinking oh this little bit won't hurt. Uh yes it did!!! I now make my husband give him the meds to avoid even having to look at that delicious jar. LOL I just ordered some Walden Farms peanut spread - anyone tried this yet?.

I am not part of any other group, but cruise the boards when I have time for inspiration. Work has been crazy and I have been working long hours and weekends lately so haven't had much time to post other than logging my food..

It's not prepared food, but rather a health coach weekly (or biweekly?) for the first six weeks, and strict food guidelines. Basically, it's like a Medifast or South Beach diet kind of thing. That's why it's so much cheaper you're really just paying for the coach...

I'm here!! It has been awhile, but life has been insanely busy with lots of changes. The most important thing though is that I have stayed OP through it all! This time away has seen a change in jobs (my decision), growing a year older, the anniversary of my father's death, vacation, and a shopping spree for SMALLER clothes! All in all, the changes have been positive.

I have been keeping up with reading all your posts, but just have not taken the time to post. Congratulations on all the wonderful successes! We are all so Worth it! I am not a part of any other group here on MF. I don't always have the time to keep up with one group let alone several. At times, I will browse through other threads..

Here are my successes: After being on vacation part of last week, I was stunned to get on the scale and see a 6.6 lb weightloss this week. I definitely am not complaining.

My total is 45.2 lbs lost. I can almost taste that 50 pound weightloss, it is so close! I am down 4.5 inches this week for a total of 40.5 inches. NSV: I am down to only having to use one tape measure to measure my hips (down 7 inches in my hip); TOM came this week (TOM 2 months consectively); Major clothes spree while on vacation Down from size 32W pants to 24/26W and from size 30/28W tops to 22/24W!! I am so Excited and I just Can't Hide it!!..

YAY NICOLE! Woo HOO! Look at you go... 45 pounds GONE!.

Tracy - I love cereal too and it can be a major temptation, especially at night when all the kids are tucked in bed. YAY for you reaching the 180's! It must feel SOOOOO GOOOD!.

Cathy - I've been struggling with TOM a bit too... not sure what's going on but I'm used to it since I have PCOS. Hopefully when we lose weight TOM will behave! LOL.

Kellie - There's just nothing like peanut butter, someone recommended a powdered one called PB2 and I've used it when I was desperate for the taste. It's good and doesn't have the fat. I found it online, but can't remember where... try looking it up in Google, I'm sure that's what I did, hopefully that will help with those cravings!.

And Congratulations on your loss too!!! Every little bit counts!.

Barb - The green beans sound good and not too complicated, so I can prepare them alongside my family's food..

Thanks for the recipe!.

Claire - I haven't heard of that program either but I know each of us must find what works for us as individuals. I hope you still stop in and chat with us though!.

As for my progress, I've lost 40 lbs and I'm thrilled... I also got my fourth charm a birthstone, to represent losing the amount of weight my daughter weighs. Twoterville is right around the corner and I'm soooo excited!.

Sorry I don't keep up with the Wrapper challenge, I wanted to but life gets busy... right now I should be corralling kids to do their schoolwork but I'm playing on here instead, lol. We've got 4 out of 5 kids in baseball/t-ball and the other is in Driver's Ed, plus church stuff and schoolwork! I'm so glad Medifast is SIMPLE!!! THere's no way I could do something complicated right now..

As for the question, yes I'm in one other group... the Pink one. After I joined the Meltaways, the coach of the pinks invited me to join and since she's lost the amount that I want to lose I thought I would benefit from her wisdom..

Ok, my kids are getting crazy so I've got to go... love and hugs to all MELTERS!.

Claire - I think hairloss is associated with ketosis in general, which is the same theory behind South Beach and Adkins. Maybe you can try low cal, high complex carbs instead? That works better with your cafeteria anyway, right? Or a soup diet! They serve soup?.

Here's another.

Question of the Day.

:.

On what body part can you tell the most significant weight loss?.

Ii think mine is ..... around my bra sides and back. What some people refer to as boobular muffin top. I hate having spillover fat there, so I'm thrilled for it to be leaving...

What's a soup diet? Just eating nothing but soup? I think that would get really old really fast... They do actually have soup, two kinds per day (usually a broth-based soup and a cream-based soup)..

Any suggestions for non-hair-losing diets that would keep me on track are welcome! Thanks to all who have already given feedback!..

Yes Jennifer the group is active again! Glad everyone is still doing great!!!!!!.

I was afraid this week was going to be this after a big loss last week, only - .2 for me, but that's okay. I can't even blame it on TOM since I am 58 and that is a thing of the past for me...YEAH! There defintely are positives of getting older. lol.

I am going back to keeping my meals simple this week and not recreating them; I know condiments go over my 3 on some days. I just think it's the way I loose though. Slow and steady. It's hard not to compare to others, but I work really hard on not doing that..

Question of the Day.

I can see and feel it in my butt, and my face. Hopefully no correlation between the two. LOL..

Boobular muffin top *snort* I've not heard that one before. Boy, do I lead a sheltered life. I think I'm melting from the top down. People comment on my face and shoulders looking so much smaller. I notice my legs these days. They are definitely getting thinner.

I'll just have to dress to accent the good stuff disguise the not so good.....

Happy Hump Day!.

I love the question of the day! Great idea Jennifer and that boobular comment made me laugh out loud. I so know what you mean. My bras all fit better and some are a little too loose. I would have to say I can notice the most though in my belly! While the darn thing is still there, it's not as big and is sitting low and doughy now. This may sound creepy but I am constantly stroking it just to feel the difference. LOL.

Barb and Tracy - I am a huge reader too! I got the Kindle for my 40th bday a few years back and absolutely love it! Have not read any of the Dragon books yet..

Nicole - WOW. So happy for you! That is wonderful news and I know you have to feel great!.

Cara - Thanks for the PB2 idea. I haven't tried that yet, was put off by it being powdered!.

I have a Medifast question for you all. I was drinking shakes at least once or twice a day in the beginning (had so many in my pack) and then once I got different food like my puffs, etc. I kind of stopped with the shakes and drank them rarely. I know that we can eat/drink any combo of our space packets but I'm wondering if the shakes are the key to quicker weight loss? I see some people drink several a day and then just have a soup or bar and their L&G. I'm wondering if there is something to this? I drank a shake this morning and going to try to do at least 2 a day to see if this makes a difference for me. Do you all get a shake or two in everyday and do you think it makes any difference at all?.

Have a great OP day!..

Kellie - I had read that it doesn't matter what combination of Medifast meals you eat, because basically they are all created equal. Maybe Cathy can enlighten us, with what her doctor says, since she said they had her doing all shakes..

Interesting question...
