First question I got is Phase 1 of Medifast Diet. Is this healthy? Hoping for any answer. 2nd question I got is.. OK gals here's our new thread. We started out "In search of ONEderland" and we have accomplished that goal. Now, we are all closing in on our goals that we can taste it.. |
I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I find an good answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could give you help..
So excited, I lost 3.2lb this week! That is my biggest week since the beginning. I'm hoping to have another great week this week so I can get out of the obese BMI once and for all! If not, it is only a couple weeks away. WooHoo!.
We are finally getting some snow here, not a lot yet but enough to cover the trees and it is beautiful! Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!.. |
Hi gals!!!.
Ann Marie thank you so much for starting the new thread!!. Jodi - that's amazing! Look at you in the 160s!. Hey Shauna.. Everything is going well this week. I love being refocused again. Phew!. Vickie.. |
Ann Marie, look at you in the 160s too!.
Ok, that's it.......hmmm, I need to see the 160s by a certain date...ok, let's say January 19 (next week's weigh in). I think that's very realistic and is giving my body more than enough time to move back out of the stagnant zone and enjoy 100 percent OP again (which I am). !.. |
Hey girls,.
I have been in Phoenix visiting my college roomie from my Auburn days and attending the national championship game. I am proud to say I was OP for the entire trip Saturday through Tuesday. I lost .9 pounds this week. I am plugging along, nothing dramatic, but a loss is a loss!.. |
Hi girls! I think I will jump in with all you familiar faces. Will someone please slap me? Never mind, I can do that myself! I just cannot seem to get my head back in the game. I will have a couple of great days, and then do something stupid!.
Vickie - that is a great way to say it "stagnant". I am right at the same weight as you as of this morning. I was 168 on Thursday! I keep going between 173 and 167! Enough is enough, I am with you on getting (and staying) in the 160s!. Shauna - I am glad that you had a great time at the Auburn game. It was a good game. I watched most of it!. Jodi - great loss!! Keep it up!!. We have been snowed in since Monday. More school that the kids have missed. And, my little one ran into my bathroom this morning and threw up! I told the other two not to touch him. I just don't need them getting sick and missing even more school. Plus, I really need to get to the nail salon and get my nails done. My DH ventured out on the treacherous roads this morning as he is supposed to fly to NY this afternoon for the rest of the week. They haven't canceled his flight, so he is assuming he is going.. I am 100% OP today, not excuses!.. |
Shauna, Great job on the trip, and yes, a loss is a loss!!.
Cheryl exactly. No more nonsense. Enough is enough! Let's go for the 150s already!!! Moving forward and downward (in weight)!. I have my goal for next week's weigh in (160s) and my goal for the Spring Challenge.......155 or less. Yay! I feel so much better back on 100 percent OP. Stagnant stinks!.. |
Good morning, everyone!.
Ok, so I'm down 2 lbs today! Woo hoo!. I'm going for a big whooosh! for my next weigh-in (now that I am totally recommitted) and I am thinking of trying alot of shakes, as Ann Marie did recently.. Lesson learned stagnant starts to feel really old, really fast.. And 100 % committed is the only committed that feels good.. Have a GREAT OP day everyone!. Vickie.. |
Good morning! I haven't been very good about posting lately. I have been keeping busy between work, school, and now coaching!.
I just wanted to share something I read recently to encourage those who have been struggling (or "stagnant" as Vickie put it) to stay OP. It truly is worth it!. DIFFICULT IS NOT IMPOSSIBLE. Difficult is not the same as impossible. Indeed, the very fact that something is difficult confirms that it is possible.. Whatever is difficult to achieve, can be achieved. Whatever is difficult to reach, can be reached with effort, with time, with commitment and persistence.. Difficulty does not stand in the way of achievement. Difficulty in fact provides a path to that achievement.. In addition, difficulty gives real value to achievement. Those goals that are the most difficult and time-consuming to reach are also the most desirable and rewarding to reach.. Giving up because the task is too difficult is like quitting a job because you're being paid too much. When you're on to something that's difficult and demanding, you're on to something with great potential.. Be willing to embrace what is difficult. And you'll open your life to the best of what is possible.. Ralph Marston.. |
Jodi - thanks for sharing that! It is so true!.
Vickie - great job on the loss! You are so right 100% feels the best. For me when I am 100% I feel so much more proud of myself, like I am not cheating myself. Maybe it has to do with what Jodi posted. 100% OP is more difficult, yet more rewarding!. I had a great 100% OP day yesterday! I did get hungry with an hour to go before my L&G, and I made it through. I brewed a cup of tea in a pretty cup and sat down to really enjoy it!. It is going to be another great day! I made cinnamon rolls for the kids this morning, our 4th day out of school for weather, and did not even have a lick of the fingers!.. |
Good Morning All!!.
Jodi. Thanks for sharing. I agree! 100%OP is difficult but I think going off plan or cheating makes it even harder. It also takes longer to reach goal. We are all so close to goal. It really is not worth being less than 100%.. Vicki. Congrats on the 2lbs!!. Cheryl. Happy to see you here. Being snowed in stinks but being snowed in with sick kids really stinks! We got snow the night before last but not enough to be snowed in. Just enough to be a pain! I like getting snow that melts very fast!. Shauna. A loss is a loss no matter how small!!.. |
Thanks gals!.
Jodi, that was great, thank you! So true.. Cheryl, good job. Smart to brew the tea. Good for you!. Vickie.. |
I'm a little disappointed this morning. I'm down only 0.6 lbs..
I have been 100% OP and drank more than enough water. Hopefully it's due to TOM and I will do better next week. Have a great OP weekend everyone!.. |
Hang in there, Ann Marie! A loss is a loss! As of today, I am UP 1.4lb, and my weigh-in day is tomorrow. It is frustrating because I, too, have been 100% OP but it is what it is. I really think mine is due to TOM approaching, time will tell!..
Good afternoon! I am up 2 this week.
I have only myself to blame, but I am back on track and on day three of being 100%. I actually lost 4, but not good when the ticker still goes up!. It is very frustrating when we are 100% in and we don't see the loss that we want. We are all successful at losing weight, and it will come, it will come!. We are finally no longer home bound do to ice! It is pretty and sunny here today and yesterday! I can't believe the kids were home all week from school, what a crazy week. They did enjoy the snow so much though!.. |
You girls are right....a loss is a loss. I was just hoping to get to the 50 lbs gone mark. Next week I will see it!!.
Cheryl. Glad you can finally get outside!!.. |
Ann Marie.
, ok, here's to you hitting the 50 lb mark and me hitting the 60 lb mark by the next weigh-in!!. Cheryl. , back on track is the way to go. Good for you!. Jodi. , that is annoying. Like you said, you've been OP 100 % and that's what matters.. I'm doing well. I'm so much happier since I recommitted. I realized that going offplan here and there was affecting many parts of my life. I was lacking clarity and just unfocused in general. No longer! That does NOT feel good.. Vickie.. |
Just remember patience is a virtue. Enjoy the anticipation. It is part of the celebration...
Good morning!!.
You girls are right. A loss is a loss. It is better than a gain. I shouldn't complain about a small loss because I know that I am doing well. Every morning when I look in the mirror, I cannot believe how far I've come in 4 months. I have so many clothes that are HUGE on me. I have to do some serious shopping to do very soon!. How was everyone's weekend? It's very cold out and snow, sleet, freezing rain is on the way. YUK!! I cannot wait until spring... |
Hi everyone!.
Ann Marie tons of sleet here in NY too. Ugh!. All is good over here. I just had my lean and green for lunch, and looking forward to a nice Medifast hot cocoa later in the afternoon.. Have a GREAT OP day everyone!!. Vickie.. |
Hi all! My day is done and time to relax with my cappuccino and tv! It was nice here this weekend, chilly but sunny. At least all the ice is gone and the kids finally got back to school today after being out a week plus MLK day. It was rainy and cold today, but I am looking forward to sunny tomorrow! DH is in NYC and is miserable in the cold!.
I have had great success at staying OP! It always seems more difficult when my DH is away. I have always looked at his travel nights as a night off for me, and I fix something for the kids and something lite for me. That just doesn't work on this program! I had a salmon salad, and really wanted cabbage soup, so I will make some for tomorrow!. Night all!.. |
Haha!! Did you ever do the cabbage soup diet? It's good the first couple days, but after that, not so much...
Good morning everyone. I jumped on the scale today and it looks like I may lose just a pound by tomorrow. I really want those 160s, but, at least I know that once I get there, I will REALLY appreciate them!!.
Cheryl NYC's weather was vile yesterday. It was so gloomy at work all day. Enjoy your cabbage soup.. Have a GREAT OP day everyone!.. |
I am posting my weekly weigh in with immense pride this week. I am down 5.3 pounds to 172.8! I had to reweigh cuz I didn't believe it. This is the biggest weekly loss I have had on Medifast since I re-started in September!..
Shauna,.
That is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is tremendous!!!!!!. Good for you! You go girl!. Vickie.. |
Good morning,.
I haven't had much time to post in the last couple of weeks, but I just wanted to pop in today. I am sooooo happy! Goodbye obesity.hello overweight! I lost 2.8 this week to 164.6lb, which makes my BMI 29.2! WooHoo! That was definitely the boost I needed after a very discouraging week last week. Even though I still have quite a ways to go, I decided to lower my goal weight by 5lb. I think it is do-able.. Shauna - Congratulations on an AWESOME loss this week!. Vickie - The 160s will be yours next week! Keep up the great work!. Have a great weekend!. Jodi.. |
That is AWESOME!!!! Isn't it a great feeling to cross that threshold? You are on a roll now that will keep you pushing through to the end. Nice work!!..
Shauna.
WOW!! Great loss!!. Jodi. Congratulations!! Being overweight sure beats obese, doesn't it?. I have been losing slow this month and I'm sooo close to 50 lbs lost. I'm determined to get there this Friday!!.. |
Ann Marie so close!! Great to see you on the Jan 3 Start Thread too..
The Spring into a New You Challenge is definitely helping me, as did the Christmas Challenge.. My biggest challenges 100% even when stressed and dealing with a crappy work situation currently.. Also, I need to exercise, but my priority is 100 percent. That's my top priority through the Spring Challenge. Woo hoo!.. |
Good morning,.
I haven't been around the boards much for the past several weeks. Hope everyone is still doing well and keeping their goal in sight!. I am getting very discouraged with my slow weight loss lately. I only lost 1.2lb again this week (-4.6 total in the last four weeks). I have been reevaluating everything. I am still weighing my L&G (usually either chicken or fish and veggies, sometimes the stuffed portabella mushroom recipe from the cookbook, steak once a week), and I have had nothing off-plan. I have tried a couple of days of all shakes, plus my L&G. Normally I have either oatmeal or pancakes for breakfast, hot cocoa, a bar, or a shake for mid-morning, soup for lunch, soup, pretzels, or a shake for mid-afternoon, L&G for dinner, and either pudding, brownies, or soft serve for evening. I am drinking between 96 and 128 ounces of water every day. My average numbers as far as nutrition for the last four weeks: 907 calories, 85 gram carb, 113 gram protein, 21 gram fat, 27mg fiber, 1765mg sodium. As far as exercise, my focus has been mostly cardio (although I do the Biggest Loser circuit training workouts periodically), so I decided to start adding strength training a few times a week and see if that helps. I did ChaLEAN Extreme on Thursday (30 minutes weight training) and plan to do burn circuit 2 today. I also tried the calorie burn infuser a couple of days this week (didn't like the way it made me feel - I seem to be sensitive to caffeine). Have a great weekend!. Jodi.. |
Hey Jodi-.
I'm running out to work, but I will check in later with some ideas.. Getting discouraged about slow weight loss is a challenge I well understand. I want results that are fast and furious. Let me reply later when I have more time, but I loved seeing you post here.. Vickie.. |
Thanks, Vickie! I'll look for your reply. I'm going to try to stop by more often, even for a brief "hello.".
Make it a great day!.. |
I talked with my coach yesterday, and she suggested something "radical".eating more normally like I was on maintenance for a couple of days (not going overboard) to get out of fat burning and shake things up for a bit then going right back on program. Honestly, I don't like that idea because I have made a commitment to myself that I will not eat anything off program until I reach my goal (and I haven't). I can see her reasoning, but I'm just not sure. What do you think?..
Jodi-.
I don't know. I can see your point in not going offplan at all. I will say that a few times I had extra protein in the form of string cheese and I actually did lose alot right after that.. BUTTTT, I can't in good conscience advise you to do that. Maybe it was pure coincidence. I don't know. Plus, doing that can be a terrible slippery slope, and it WAS for me. So, I don't know.. Are you exercising too much? Can you try a maintenance bar instead of crunch if you are exercising? That's a tactic some use.. Can you try changing the types of Medifast foods you're having? Maybe adding some puffs and pretzels? Or changing your lean and green?. Vickie. Ps I miss this group.....so quiet... |
Thanks for the feedback, Vickie! I am going to try to utilize more of the veggies with the lowest glycemic index for a few days and see if that will help (I tend to eat a lot of broccoli, cauliflower, green beans). I don't think I am overdoing the exercise. I usually exercise between 30 and 45 minutes, but usually closer to 30 minutes. I'm just going to keep plugging along and hope it picks up. I'd just be happy with 2lb a week! :-).
I agree, it has been really quiet here!. Have a good night!.. |
Hey Jodi,.
Good thinking. It will all balance out...... I need to start the C25K.......I need to exercise!! I'm just going to keep posting that till I do. In my defense, I've been waiting for my iPhone so I can download the app.. Have a great day all.. Vickie.. |
It's going to be a long day here. My son has been up since 3:15 with a stomach bug. Poor guy can't seem to catch a break. He had a viral illness with fever, headache, sore throat all week last week...
Hey Jodi,.
How is he feeling today? Ugh, that must have been a tough day. I hope he got some sleep during the day and maybe even you did too.. Vickie.. |
Hi Vickie,.
He hasn't vomited since mid-afternoon yesterday but still has diarrhea. He slept most of the day yesterday, except to wake up and run to the bathroom, and most of the night. He was up about 4:00 with diarrhea and a headache, but fell back to sleep shortly after and is still sleeping. The fever seems to have broken. I am feeling totally worn out. It has been a rough couple of weeks.. Hope you have a great day!. Jodi.. |
Hi girls,.
I have been gone since January 27. I had a horrible tragedy enter my professional life and needed to process what happened and grieve in private because I am a teacher and I can't bring work problems into public forums.. BUT, I have been lurking here for support and staying pretty well OP. I didn't log my food, so I may have had larger portions to some extent, but I didn't eat off plan food. I am back and focused on the future... |
Shauna - I am sorry to hear that you have been dealing with something tragic at work. ((Hugs)) God bless you for being a teacher and making a difference..
I'm so proud of you for staying OP! You will reach your goal before you know it!.. |
I am at 170.4. I lost 1.6 pounds this week. I am back moving in a forward direction... and on the brink of a new decade!! Can't wait to break into the 160s..
Here is a great article I wanted to share. It is called "Lose These Top 10 Diet Mistakes". It raises some great points.. Http://www.abcactionnews.com/dpp/new...s1297043945120.. |
Shauna.
I'm so sorry to hear about the tragedy in your professional life. That's really hard. I'm a teacher also, so I completely understand the privacy issue. Sigh. I hope all is getting better if possible.. Congrats on being close to the 160s!!!!!!!!!. Hi Jodi!!. I have FINALLY started exercising, even though only a bit here and there. I downloaded great apps on my new iPhone and it is making a huge difference.. Vickie.. |
Hello everyone! Sorry I've been MIA for the last month. Life has been busy. Work has been as well. Our computer at home died but we are getting a new laptop tonight. I hope all is well with everyone! I missed you gals!..
Welcome back Ann Marie! I am living crazy too. I pulled an all-nighter last night grading senior projects. They are due to be mailed out for external grading a week from tomorrow and it will take me all week to get them completed...
Good morning! Sounds like everyone has been busy! Thanks for sharing that article, Shauna. There were some good points there..
Make it a great day!.. |
Good morning everyone....
So, a light switched on in my head this week and I am ready to finish this race for myself. It's time to move on and plan for the future. I am not going to dwell on the past or continue to churn in my mind what's happened. I am just going forward with honor in my heart.. It's a new month and I weighed this morning... 170. I am very proud that I have lost a little over 2 pounds since my life exploded in January. It is a true victory that I was able to work through my grief without turning to food as a coping mechanism. It gives me confidence for the future and sustaining my weight loss post MF. I am back to the 100% regimen and logging all my food. It's going to be a great weekend! Today the sun is shining and I think DD and I will hang by our pool a bit and get our vitamin D allotment this morning. Sunday my mother, DD, and I are spending the day at the art museum to see the Degas exhibition... |
Shauna - I am so glad to hear that you are back to taking care of yourself. That was a terrible situation, and I am proud of you for not only maintaining your loss but losing an additional 2lb during this time. You will be to goal in no time! :-) Have fun at the museum today!.
Hope everyone else is doing well. It has been really quiet here... |
Hi everyone!!!.
I'm BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!. Shauna I've been thinking about you alot lately.. Jodi OMgooodness, you're doing amazing!!. Ann Marie great to see you.. Ok, so for January thru March I don't what I was doing........My Own Thing I guess.. Things were bad at work, my divorce finalized, and all sorts of other nonsense threw me off bigtime. I also detest winter and just got into a funk. I allowed myself to go off track and it was not good.. I have learned SO much, though. Wow, that feels like crap. I had NO NO NO mental clarity or patience during that time. Yuck!!!. For 2 months I didn't gain/lose, and then in March I put on 10 lbs!! Yuck!!! That was a reality check.. So, I recommitted April 2, updated my ticker, and am back for round 2 and GET TO GOAL by summer. I love the warmer weather and feel great after just 1.5 days of 100 PERCENT ON PLAN!!!!!!!!!. Vickie.. |
Vickie - I am so proud of you for recommitting, and you can definitely reach your goal. Just look at the last few months as part of the learning curve and keep it moving forward..
I have learned so much in the past 6.5 months since I have started this program. It has really opened my eyes as to how bad the eating habits are in our society as a whole. I never want to go back to the way I was before.. It's funny how we all seem to look younger when we lose weight as well. I cannot believe how many before/after pictures I have seen that it looks like the person visited the Fountain of Youth! Someone in my church told me yesterday that I look 18. That was a very nice thing to hear at 42!. I now understand what "shop 'til you drop" means. I went shopping all day on Saturday. I used to hate shopping, but it is so much fun now! I bought a couple of winter jackets on clearance, size small. They were snug but zipped and buttoned, so I figured at goal they should fit next year (and if they are still snug, I can resell them on ebay and get out of them what I paid). I also bought a couple of cute lightweight jackets for this time of year on sale, size medium (they look much better than the extra-large I have been wearing). I was looking for a dress to wear for Easter but ended up buying two because I couldn't decide and they both looked good! The biggest shocker was the pair of dress pants I bought. It still almost seems surreal... |
Hi Vickie,.
I'm so glad to see you back. We can do this. I have struggled quite a bit the last few months too (as you know). But, I am renewed and ready to move forward. We will get there together!!.. |
Thank you Ann Marie and Shauna!.
Thanks for taking the time to notice my recommitment. You gals have been so great throughout this journey.. Ann Marie Woo hooooo for size 8 or 10!!!!! You look beautiful!. Shaua that's so great you maintained through all that. How are you feeling? Yes, time to lose the rest!!. Xo Vickie.. |
Why did I write Ann Marie instead of Jodi for size 8 or 10? Sorry for the mistake.......
Good morning, my Medifast friends.. All good here. Feeling so good about being back OP 100 percent. Yay!!!!. Vickie.. |
Vickie - Glad you are feeling good. 100% is so worth it!.
Have a great weekend, everyone! My boys have a bat-a-thon for little league this morning. It's already 42 out and is supposed to be in the low 50s today! After having snow on the ground three days this week, it will be a nice treat having some spring-like weather... |
Hi Jodi,.
Thanks! I feel sooooooooo good!!. Amazing how life gets "cluttered" when our minds get cluttered when our bodies get cluttered by not eating properly.. I love this feeling.. Have fun today with the boys!. Vickie.. |
Hi gals,.
I'm just going to keep posting here as needed because it feels so comfortable. I'm down 3 lbs since Thursday so far, and I am psyched for official weigh in this Thursday. Woo hoo!!!. Have a fantastic OP day everyone!!. Vickie.. |
You are doing great, Vickie! Can't wait to hear your official weigh-in on Thursday!.
I have jury duty this morning.. I am hoping I will be excused, but time will tell. It is definitely not a convenient time with getting close to the end of the school year and trying to finish things up.. Make it a great day!.. |
Thanks Jodi!!.
Ugh about jury duty......well, maybe you won't get picked....... Have a great day,. Vickie.. |
Hi Vickie - It was a long, stressful day yesterday, but thankfully I wasn't chosen to serve. They were choosing for two different criminal trials, both with similar charges and unfortunately it hit close to home..
We had an hour break for lunch, so I went for a walk down by the river while we had the break. It was a gorgeous day here. After hitting low 70s yesterday, it is supposed to be back in the 40s today but I am thankful we had at least one nice day.. Have a great day!.. |
Hi Jodi,.
Glad to hear you didn't get picked.....with the cases close to home, that could be quite upsetting.. Well, that's behind you, and what a great idea to go for a walk on your break!. Here too......80s yesterday and 50s today....and rainy!. I wish I could stay home and read all day.. Vickie.. |
Reposted from 100 % OP Survivors.........
Weighed in today.....down 3 lbs since restarting last Thursday. I had hoped for more but definitely didn't watch the sodium or water yesterday. WTH? It's like I have a Wednesday self-sabotage day of some sort every time, just because I know it is weigh in????. Anyway, I'll take the 3 lbs and stay OP.....right now......for today.......one day at a time.. Vickie. Have a great OP day everyone. All my meals are READY!!.. |
Congratulations on a 3lb loss, Vickie!.
Here's an article that might be helpful to you on self-sabotage:. Http://www.peertrainer.com/how_to_st...ge.aspx?page=1. Make it a great day!.. |
Hi Jodi,.
Thank you for the article. I just sent it to my email so I can read it on my lunch break.. Hugs,. Vickie.. |
Ann Marie,.
You win the gold star for creativity today. Thanks for starting the new thread... |
