Got a question... What is the best natural Nutrisystem diet remedy? Thanks in advance for any response. Second question.. I've had a bad month.... |

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I bump into an good answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably know..

Tuvya -.
It's not a failure if you are still here. So, don't beat yourself up. We'll do that for you.. Just get back on the plan and don't make us have to kick your ass!.. |

I know the typical reaction is to pound the person and tell them to get back on board. However, binging and purging are beyond the normal "I eat too much crap" issues many of us have. You obviously have to alter your mindset as you refer to you and your wife as being on the "diet." We recognize that the the only way this can work for the long term is to make a true lifestyle change. But with what you're doing to your body, I would seriously suggest getting some professional help. You owe it to yourself to discover the root cause of why you engage in this kind of dangerous behavior. I do wish you well...

Whoops - Sorry I didn't realize I was posting in the mens room...

Tuyva, I agree with Michael - if you're purging - then you need to at the VERY least call one of the counselors, and should prabably get with a professional! Recognize that like AA and others - you can only get to where you're heading when you admit where you are. Telling us is a great start - but you need to be honest with your wife. You need her help - you should ask for it..
Also, recognize that you're DOWN 67+ POUNDS! That's a great achievement - the key now is to get back on track. Start your mindset makover again, plan and record all your food - and recognize that it takes 21 days to build new habits. Be disciplined for 3 weeks and you'll have habits that will make all the difference. Start sharing all of your NSVs (and make sure to notice).. Give us a post of the changes you've noticed in losin 67 pounds - I KNOW THAT YOU'VE HAD PLENTY OF POSITIVE CHANGES - don't just recognize your recent failures. Sure you've lapsed - Since your here YOU HAVEN'T RE-LAPSED!. You've done your own intervention - and that's the best kind. Post here EVERYDAY! We're with you and will be praying for you!. YOU CAN DO THIS - YOU'VE ALREADY PROVEN IT!!!!.. |

Agreeing with Michael and Tom....
You got bunch of good folks here and all of us are facing the need in some form to change a lot of old (and even lifetime habits).. Look at your progress. Talk to some folks who can advise you from a professional perspective.. And, we'll all be here on your side and pulling for you to succeed.. JT.. |

Right, but I'm sure it'll help just to do what you did. Venting it out like that does help you sort out everything that's happened and set yourself up for what's next..
Those triggers and struggles recently, especially all at once, are probably more than most of us deal with, so good to see you're cutting yourself a little slack on the last month or so. But all that counts now is today and where you intend to go tomorrow.. And I ditto FitTom: you've done this, you know how to do it, you know you want to do it, you know you're gonna do it.. Good luck. Just lower your head and drive forward.. ... |

Thanks guys. And you are right, while I have certainly been guilty of overeating, I do have a problem that sometimes goes beyond that. I have been treated for ED in the past, and that's why I have monthly doctors meetings while I'm on this diet (yup, next one is Monday, part of what woke me up this weekend). Part of why I'm so frustrated with myself is this thing followed me from the time I was about 13 until I was almost 30, ending in a hospital visit. While I've certainly eaten too much since then, this is the first time in 10 years where I've fallen back on the way I was. I think maybe I just had too much come down on me at once and I just failed to deal..
That's the thing with compulsive personalities, we fail big or succeed big, no half measures lol.. Well I survived today...I will survive tomorrow... And I'm going to go back to succeeding big with NS. My original plan was to get to 200 by next December, and that's still in sight. Heck, I even gave myself a couple more months than I needed just in case... so I really haven't lost anything, I will succeed.. |

You can do it! You're so close to the 200s..
Stuff happens, and I understand it's difficult for people who wrap food up into their emotions. Food is fuel, not a crutch and it's never going to solve your problems. The suggestion to speak to a Nutrisystem counselor is good. Probably wouldn't hurt to discuss this with your doctor as well.. You rock though, because you came back!.. |
