My question is What Nutrisystem diet pills are most effective? Many thanks for any answer or 2. Another question on my mind: Periodically I have to take overnight call at the hospital where I come in at 7 AM and don't leave until noon or 1 PM the following day. There is always the possibility of getting some sleep during the night but typically I'm too busy taking care of patients to ever lay down.. |

Good question... I dunno what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I got an good answer. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably know..

I was leaning toward the option of eating 2 days back to back, 12 meals every 2-4 hours and then going to bed early the next day...

That's the way I would do it. Especially if you can really sleep 12 hours. I'm happy if I can sleep more than three hours in a row..
I just heard on the news a few days ago about recommendations that doctors working a 24 hour shift should get a mandatory four hour break in the middle of the shift. Research was showing that more mistakes are made after 12 hours on. More power to you for those 24 hour shifts, but I hope for everyone's sake those recommendations are taken seriously... |

I don't have a specific post to link off hand, but others have asked the dietitian who are in the same boat (so to speak) and it was recommended to keep the meals evenly spaced - even if it means an extra meal. Since you're up, you're burning more calories than if you were asleep..
2 days of meals back to back followed by your 12 hour crash and back to normal the following day sounds like the best plan. And it's always better to. Have. A plan than wing it and end up eating out of the vending machine (or worse - we have a hospital nearby with a McD's in it *shiver*)... |

Sleeping 12 hours is not a problem after you've been up for 36...

I have many years of personal experience taking call, and doing surgery all night. I can assure you that you really don't burn many more calories being up all night. I have worn the proof of this on my ass..
Since starting NS, I eat a normal schedule on the day of call. If I have to go back in and work all night, I just try to drink plenty of fluids. I then have my usual meals the next day. This seems to work. We normally don't eat all night when we are asleep, why start while you are awake? Doing it this way seems to help me regulate my internal clock so I can get back on a regular schedule after a good sleep post-call... |

With all your boxes of food, you should find the bars (breakfast, lunch & snacks) and keep in the trunk of your car. If your stuck at the hospitol, you have your food, no excuses. And yes you can switch meals around and have a lunch at dinner time and a dinner at lunch time. The only issue with this is during the summer some melt. Just put in freezer and your ready to go again...

I don't work 24 hour shifts but when I am awake for extended amounts of time or longer then Normal I just Spread out my meal Portions..
Say I get up @ 6am, Instead of eating my entire breakfast meal when I wake up I will spread it out. I.e.. 6am Nutri breakfast,. 7am Fruit Serving. 8am carb serving. 9am dairy serving.. This way I get all my calories amd keep the metabolisim going!.. |
