Question I have... Would a Nutrisystem diet like this make someone anorexic? Looking forward for any answer or 2. Another quick question... Can someone point me in the direction of a thread that may have great salad recipies for lunch? I will dig through the food talks/tips history to see if I can find any.. |

Hmm... I need to find out myself. I don't know what is the answer to that question. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I find an anything. You should email the people at Nutrisystem as they probably can help you..

Curry try this one below and look at post #36 I thought it was a great suggestion. I happen to love salads now since I started NS. Incorporating some extras in the salad makes all of the differance in the world... Even (dare I say) bacon bits..

Curry this one is my favorite....
1/4 fresh iceberg lettuce roughly chopped. 1 plumb tomato 1/4" slices. One head portabello mushroom 1/4" slices. 1/3 fresh cucumber 1/4" slices. ***3 slices of Oscar Myer turkey bacon pan fried (only 35 calories per slice and 3 g fat). ***2 slices of boars head low fat low salt turkey pan fried (about the same as above). As for dressing use whatever you like here... I like the Cesar salad spritzers as they help keep the calorie count easy and it spreads out easy over the salad... one cal per spray- I use about 20 sprays.. ***The above items should be considered as your protein serving for the day on the mens program. For me these are extras as I take in 1900 cals/day. I like to slice my veggies thick probably because I'm anal but I like to taste the veggies. I used to slice them small as I am from the middle east and used to making middle eastern style salads. But I prefer the American way better with the above.. |

That sounds insanely good.. I'll have to give that one a try as well. Thanks guys!..

Any big bowl of greens, topped with a Morningstar Farms Asian Veggie Pattie (crumbled up), and Ken's Light Asian Sesame Ginger dressing. Satisfies my Chinese food cravings as the dressing is spicy/tart and the pattie kind of like the inside of an egg roll...

That is great dressing!.
Hey Helen, you're looking good these days!. My favorite dressing is by far Walden Farms Calorie free, FF, everything free but the price dressing. Not for the taste or the price but for the fact that it's calorie free. that's right folks NO calories... |

I've used the blue cheese on a Zaxby's Blue Salad, which has blue cheese crumbles on it, but it was really good. I've also used the blue cheese on hot wings, I know they are not on plan, but it is what it is, I did it, and it was good as hell..
At least I ate them with calorie free dressing.. So the long answer is yes... |

I like the blue cheese. I just add a dash of fresh ground black pepper and a little garlic powder. But that's just my taste preference...

I just realized that my plan doesn't call for a protein/dairy serving for lunch. I may not move a serving from breakfast to lunch because I have grown to absolutely love my breakfasts. I will most likely stick with checking out all sorts of greens and different kinds of dressings. Ted (tedvo) hooked me up with the Walden's Farm coupons and I basically just ordered like 10 of them (FF and cal free? Let's be serious.. it's like happiness in a bottle). There are all sorts of ideas you guys have given me and I'm going to have a field day trying them all out.
Edit: I was thinking about blue cheese. My biochemist side of me says "do you have any idea what the 'blue' part really is?" but I will suck it up and check it out. I have never tried moldy cheese before. I hear the French love it.. and their entire country is skinny. There may be something to this afterall.... |

You could always use your morning snack protein and add some chopped chicken/turkey breast to your salad, or maybe a chopped hard boiled egg...
|
|
I hear yah on loving your breakfast... You could also try and move your low GI serving and add that to a salad. Like throw in some corn for a southwestern salad... Or some wheat thins broken up for a crunchy bite..
As for the blue cheese... yeah it's rotten but it's damn good. Yes they are skinny but they also love thier wine. I've been missin out on the calorie free stuff. Thank you for that. The only thing is now I have to try it on some wings. DAAAAAAAAAAMN!.. |
|
Also, if you don't have or have already used the coupon netrition.com sells Walden Farms for a few cents less than the Walden Farms site and the shipping is cheaper. They also have PB2...
